I've had second thoughts about heroes...
This mod should not be dependent on heroes really, but units. The more heroes we have the more we surpress the need for units. Heroes have always been "tanks" in this game and I don't like that. Neither do I like the thought of making them weaker since that would just make them die and respawn all the time... So I think we should keep the number of heroes to a level that is resonable. That means: concentrate on heroes from the movies to begin with and make sure all factions have a resonable amount of heroes compared to each other. This is why we gave Dwarves 2 new heroes for this beta and they will get 2 more later on. Goblins will get 1 new atm, and 2-3 more later on. But giving factions like elves or Mordor even more heroes will cause problems in both balance, gameplay and techical issues (number of hero icons at one time). I hope that makes scense...

Yes that does make sense, and sorry if I sound like a Jerk ( ), but I've said quite a few times, 4 hobbits really aren't needed, but obviously you disagree (refer to elven suggestions topic). In terms of balance and gameplay, check out any half-decent evaluation for elves on the web and most will say something like 'their strengths come from their unmatched archers/heroes, being a hard-hitting faction with supreme ranged damage, vision range but a weak defence'. Atleast that's how I percieve them.
Unless you disagree with the above evaluation, I don't see any reason why not to put em in, unless you generally can't be bothered (which I totally understand) as it would still keep the style of the elves without any drastic changes, I think... Or unless you're changing their style of play to suit a more army based faction, but the current beta doesn't particularly feel that way.
I wasn't hoping for any tank-like heroes either, that's what makes the Balrog/Sauron so special, but I just thought it would make a cool addition to have argueably the coolest characters that never really made it into the films? I mean come on lol.. Plus, there are many arguements refering to whether one of the twins were seated at the council of Elrond next to Aragon, but pleh.

- Frodo and Sam will for instance have "Orc Disguise" wich will make them excellent spies in enemy territory.
- Merry and Pippin DO add to TB's damage, when throwing rocks, even if you haven't noticed it. About 2 hits kills a normal Orc.
- But must of all, hobbits are in the mod for the "feeling" if anything, and they fit ELven faction best since they make use of Ents. And I don't wanna separate them, but rather maybe give them some kind of "group bonus" when all four are close to each other, like 50% armor and damage. Kind of like the Large Group Bonus of orcs

We already have super uber nice models of those from WoA (Eldarion skins). SO if we ever add them, they're already all set (except powers off course)... but thanks though. Didn't know you had models to donate?

- Look at the movies when the fells attack the Rohirrim in RotK...
- Then look in game and especially compare the fell mounted nazgul vs the ground (foot) nazgul...
- Compare the movie fells to the movie eagles in the final scenes of RotK...

For example Merry and Pippin could be moved to men of the west. And i like the idea about weaker heroes its boring to take down a base only with heroes and spellbooks.:(
And 9 nazgul is great but toooooooooooo much.So what about giving a hero only one live?SOmething like you can only revive him if you build a new forress ;that would make sence i think;)
And what about dividing the elves into Rivendell(or MIrkwood) and Lorien...Why not?You would have a place for all heroes and could create many new units.
