Right, basically I've barely touched ICFRA since the C&C3 Mod SDK hit, and I've not touched C&C3 for a week or two either.

After looking at what's left for the next ICFRA release I've decided it's not stuff that needs testing on a wide basis (I can quite easily check if a damage frame is there or not myself) and it has been a long time since the last release (I was planning to be totally done by June/July...).
As such I'm going to be releasing Beta Release 3 as it is so far.
Assuming I won't get some free time to kill on a weeknight the release is going to occur this weekend (unless I'm involved in some kind of massive accident that prevents me getting at my PC).

I don't think I'm going to be going round contacting news sites as I did with the last release so people might just have to check here/the ICFRA website/Revora front page.

So what does this seeming lack of enthusiasm for the mod and the game engine mean for the future of ICFRA?
Well, nothing really. I WILL finish this damn thing if it's the end of me :)
If Beta Release 3 is this weekend then I should have a good list of bug fixes and what not. Then those fixes and the completed graphics will be able to go into Release Candidate 1 (ie the "finished" mod).

If you want to know exactly what will be included with the incoming release (and what won't be) then head over to the Release 3 Change List thread.
There's a big list of changes/additions then a deceptively small list of what's left to do.

Well, the lack of enthusiasm for the mod isn't really lack. It's an awesome mod, but there is no "New Unit" suggestions, we've seen most of the graphics, and, truly, there is nothing we can say that hasn't been said the last 11 years.

I still love this mod though.

ok this is a mod i've been watching for ages now it looked ready in the last pics we saw so stop touching that damn C&C3 sdk and mod the mod and if u want i have an idea what if u just release a pre beta3 so we can tell u whats needed to be fixed u could make a private betas or alpha's in passworded folder? here are things u need to do they are a piece of what this release is about making it look better than beta2

AI overhaul
Terrain completion- don't care if not done but it would be nice to include whats done :p
Damage frames
Soviet sidebar misalignments fix
Sidebar tab flashes

and what the hell does this mean 'Autonormals'?

sorry if im being a bossy im just very excited about this mod :p

Out of that list the damage frames is the only one that'll really harm gameplay. It makes it harder to tell how much damage your buildings have taken.
The standard RA2 maps look a bit weird with some tiles ICFRA terrain and some standard RA2, but the balance is towards ICFRA tiles at the moment so it's okay.

And autonormals is a system of applying normals to voxel graphics.
Normals are to do with the lighting.
There's been some advances since my voxels were done so running them through newer autonormals should make them look a little bit better.

Why would I make a private Beta/Alpha?

First off, I'm way beyond alpha versions.
And secondly ICFRA has been public beta since day 1.

You don't appear to have read my first post as your post basically told me to do what I said I was doing at the very top of the page...

Which is exactly what Beta 1, Beta 2 and Beta 2.5 were and the forthcoming Beta 3 will be.
