Post here if you have any suggestions or comments you would like to make. I'll be posting detailed information on the sides and unit lists soon. Also expect to see our site up and running soon.

I have a qusetion: what's the freaking pass for the staff forum? I wanna see what's going on in there :D

But onto serious matters, who of your BFME2 modding team is still around? It would be helpful to know. Maybe you could set up a team list anyway (until the site is up) :p

Actually, everyone from ROTE is still around. Only the coders from the old GaW and a modeler are still here, but as CNC3 doesnt use INI files anymore, we'll probably get some new coders.

One problem is that this area is hard to notice, so I doubt that we'll get a lot of attention.

I didn't know that bit about tanks, its very helpful and i'm even more glad that we're moving to CNC3.

We're now officially moved to CNC3, our forums space are over at http://forums.revora...?showforum=1423

Hope to see you over there, we're really going to get some great work done.

1. I think he meant the forums, which are pretty hard to notice atm, that's true.

2. He needs a site before he can include MasterNews :)

Just in case anyone was wondering, we have a Commando unit for the Republic. I do not intend one single bit to carbon copy CNC3 with our models and skins. The roles of commando units and everything else will be changed for the better (in my opinion at least). They will not be used like normal CNC3 or have the same abilities.

They have much, much cooler abilities  and I really think that people will enjoy playing with these Commandos in their new roles.

Hello,
Maybe you could have the clones starting in phase I armour and the upgrades (GDI composite armour respectivly) could upgrade the armour to phase II, although i understand if you wish to maintain the phase II armour all the times (in order to avoid complications with colour/rank/affiliation ect)
Whats the ideas for the space battles? are they easily implemented into TW?

Hey,

We do plan to have the clones starting in Phase 1 armor (episode 2 armor) and upgrade to epside 3 armor.

Hostile knows some things about space battles and will help us out a bit with getting them to work in TW, but yes they are just as easily implemented as in BFME (possible easier).

If there is any confusion, this is the GaW topic when we were for BFME2. Now, questions or comments should go in its own topic or in the General discussion topic.

Here are some suggestions:

Make the units bigger and stronger. The units in C&C3 were really small and worthless. I wish you could make then bigger and detailed and make then strong so you will actually want to build them to make it look like a real star wars battle.

Make Units run Faster and make the wait for them to shoot again sooner. All of the tanks fired then didn't fire again for another 40 secounds. Plus the Avatar took a entire minuite to fire again. Which is why Nod is kinda sucky because all there units walk slow and take a long time to shoot.

That is actually one of the main things that we want to do when we edit the gameplay. Units won't be weak or insignificant anymore. One of the problems in CNC3 is that no matter what kind or how many units there are, they can always be overrun by smaller numbers of tanks. They don't make you think 'oh shit!' and scramble to build some anti-infantry units. People just build more Mammoths.

Also, unit pathfinding in CNC3 is terrible. Units are slow, take long paths around obstacles, pause too long before they start to attack, and generally just suck. Infantry in GaW will be larger, like you suggested, they will move faster, quicker, take much shorter to prepare to fire, and generall just be much smarter.

But tanks won't be nerfed either. Building an army of AT-TE's isn't going to be destroyed easily. But, building a bunch of rocket droids and a hero or two will actually DO something against them. And all tanks have their weaknesses, just like infantry. Just as easily as infantry can be driven over and crushed, tanks such as an AT-TE can be outmaneuvered by attacking from behind and constantly moving, taking advantage of the AT-TE's slow turning speed. Combat will be fast, but not overwhelming and becoming a tank spamming fest.

Suggestions like that will help the mod a bunch, so keep them coming. :)

Also Tanks should be faster and take shorter time to prepare fire. I mean by the time some units shoot your base is gone. Also What Are the diffrent Native units you have? I was wondering because I have some ideas for some but you might already have them.

Well, we've planned to make Wookiees, Tusken Raiders (sand people on Tatooine), Geonosians, and the ice-cave monster that almost eats Luke (don't know what it is named).

But please say all your suggestions, and if you know what its name is that would be great also :p.

They're called Wampas, I think.

EDIT: Yes, Wampa is correct. Wikipedia: Wampa :p

Would those be randomly spawned or do you plan to have something like the creep system in BFME?

I'm hoping that we can make them very much like the creep system in BFME (when we were doing it for BFME we had it planned for that same idea). And maybe we can include something so that if you pay some of them enough money, the structure will go away and the untis will become yours (like bribing them) and that would be done by 'selling' the creep structure, and you know when one of your buildings dies some units spawn under it? Those units are the creep units that would become yours. That's what i'm hoping for.
