I actually like the way it is set up now: troops cost command points, heroes do not.

Command Points should be for limiting the size of the army battalions, not limiting the ability to recruit heroes, who are an integral part of the story.

Just my two cents...

And one hero shouldn't cost the same CP has as two 10-unit hordes.

Yeah, we might do that ^ =)
We will never add CP COST though to heroes  BUt we might do that to "ease up" on the already hated (by me) CP system

Well, despite the fact that it won't follow the movie (or the books for that matter), I'd like to see the Fountain Guards to have their shields back.

Like, the shields from BFME I and the RJ-RotWK mod, with the defensive animations that are from both (with the spears extended beyond their shields). It would look so much cooler with that animation instead of the porcupine formation, especially when the RJ Cam is implemented completely.

You would use a transport. Of course, if the map permits it.

EDIT: Plz don't quote "automatically". If the post you're quoting is straight above your post - there's no need! Only quote if it's a previous post (further up). /Naz

Funny; I don't recall Gollum being a swimmer.

Was this in the Lost Tales or other writings by Tolkien?

Well Smeagol was one of the "River Folk" as Frodo said, so I assume he can swim :)

Oh about hero CP, can't we just do what Gimli says?

That STILL only counts as one! :thumbsupsmiley:

You wouldn't notice, even if it was. And so it isn't. And probably won't be.

Hehe don't dispair, you're free to give suggestions, and it was a good one. Just a bit too much work at this point. But like our joker up there said; we might do it later on, when the mod is just about finished if we feel the need to venture further into "realism" :)

I have some ideas for battering rams:

i think it would be more realistic if the attack was much faster, but did less damage ill use some numbers to convey my Idea.

lets say right now its 6 seconds between a hit and that hit does 60 damage.
it would look better if there was a hit every 2 seconds and the damage was 15.
so you get the same amount of damage in the same time it just looks less robotic and more urgent.

my next Idea is giving a "charge" special attack like the mumak and dwarven warriors have to the battering ram only it only targets structures. the walk anim could be sped up to a slow jog and wouldnt look to funny I think given that they are carrying a heavy object. what would also be neat is to have a knock back of any units in the way of the ram getting to the targetted gate or structure. and that one hit could 2 or 3 times the normal damage. just a few thoughts on how to make them more realistic. what do you think?

i like that suggestion about battering rams. i never use them tho, cuz i would much rather bomard the s*** outta them with cattapults.

those rams could even take out some of the troops guarding a building. that would be pretty tight

Maybe you could make Sauron flee from Aragorn's Elendil power like other units. In the movies Sauron greatly feared that sword because of what it did to him in the past and he believed it held some sort of power against him (which it pretty much did).
