As topic , even i installed the mod (4.5) correctly ( it plays an works) and the maps at teh right place (im using vista)

C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files\SEE\maps

PS: if i installed it in the normal \My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files\maps , the game wont start up , it says

"RUN TIME ERROR , Programe: D:/games/BFME2/GAME.DAT , this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way"

, but when i put the maps in the SEE/MAP place , it starts but i dont see the maps , only the ones come with the mod or the game...........

So whats wrong ?

Maps go in:

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files\Maps

So it's no different to where they go in the non-modded game.

The maps folder within SEE is for official maps, so they wont show up in game (you have to update the mapcache file for that to happen).

Thats what i tried , when i put into

C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files\Maps (can you edit my name out please ? ><)

The MOd doesn't start up ! and give me

"RUN TIME ERROR , Program: D:/games/BFME2/GAME.DAT , this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way"

PS: and even i updated the mapcache file (byletting the normal game start so i get the new file data from the original game , then copy and paste the content in the file in the SEE/MAP version) , the maps dont show up on the mod..........

Custom skirmish/multiplayer maps should have no problem to run. It's only when a map is basically a mini-mod (think heroes, arenas and stuff like that) when the map.ini conflicts with the mod files.

Thanks for the info XD thanks for this great mod anyway XD Cheers

PS: i think SEE MOD should have a multiplying map pack for download where the team thinks the maps chosen to be in the pack

A) works with the mod

B) Works well with the mods feature

C) Has room for big battles (theme of this mod)

D) AWESOME MAPS XD

We've already added like 50 maps from Rohara's conversion of the BFME1 maps, and edited them for SEE. Isn't that enough? :p

I see, well I find them most to be very lacking in visual quality... Besides, it would make the mod even larger. We still need maps for the upcoming campaign, so I doubt we'd add even more maps for Skirmish, unless thay have EA qualty in looks... =)

Best is to expand with those maps you find interesting by yourself =)

More info needed. :p

Answer these:

1) Are you getting the error with YOUR map in the BFMEII folders, while tryng to play the SEE Mod, or just BFMEII (or both)?

2) Does your install of BFMEII v1.06 unmodified (without your personal map or any other changes) work right?

3) Does your install of the BFMEII v1.06 SEE Mod v4.5 unmodified (without your personal map or any other changes) work right?

Read the comment by Sul further up this thread; does it apply to you?

Thanks, we will see if it can be made right for you.
