EDIT 20080811: Changed to Beta 4.7 /Naz
-------------------------------------------------

Thought i better repost it in public so you can see what awaits you ...

I did it! The dwarves (and soon the other factions) will build wallupgrades according to a randomized buildset, including fully functional gates (opening when needed, closing when enemies approach) and the rest! ;)

Of course this walling off works only on maps that have their wall templates redone (or inserted, if they don't have any).

Screenie coming shortly.

Edit: Here we go!

The complete Dwarven Fortress, hehe.

Posted ImagePosted Image

Here you can see the dwarves attacking my walls. You may notice the CaH stars on both sides of the walls. These are models (to be removed) used on the objects that act like old BfMe1 ThreatPings to make units gather to teams and attack them (they are in reach since many are outside of the walls). As soon as units that can attack walls are in sight, they attack the walls, as the ThreatPings themself cannot be attacked. I'll be moving them farther away from the walls though. It's a bit hot so close to the Fortress Trebs, hehe. ;)

And here you can see that the Noldor use different Bombard Animations, depending on how close the target is.

Beeftastic. I especially like the noldors bombardment. Will it do that when they attack flying stuff?

Yes, off course. As will all archers (if they actually have the unused animations)

Finally, the new Uruk Banner Carriers in-game (models by Lauri):

And something to wet your appetite, an AI built (dwarven-)fortress,
implemented for all factions, for now only on a few selected maps:

Try again. They really should work, if imageshack doesn't have server problems again. :)

Ah, now they work...

But... :thumbsupsmiley: ...oups? The BC for Uruks of Orthanc is an Uruk Raider? :)
The Black Uruk one is correct though :thumbsupsmiley:

Easy fix: move that BC to the Uruk Raiders instead :thumbsupsmiley:

Actually an AI only game is now a matter of hours. I am now thinking of adjusting the phase timing from Phase1[0-5min]/Phase2[5min-15min]/Phase3[15min+] to Phase1[0-15min]/Phase2[15min-30min]/Phase3[30min+] and moving all 'only Phase 3' stuff to Phase 2 and finally adjusting the Army-Setup to contain even more Siege Equipment in Phase 3. Right now, only the tier 3 spell support gives enough of an edge to really allow an attack on a fortress like that to succeed. :D

That would bring the Phases back to more of what I had when you found this mod :santa:

But with that setup everything would be built in Phase 2 though? ^
What happens in Phase 3? (Not that we really should discuss development in here, but anyways) ;)

Ehhh... guys, is it possible to make such walls, where you can put archers, etc?
I mean are you going to make buildable walls like Minas tirith walls for Gondor, etc?

No, not exactly. At least not until a modeler feels up to the task of designing at least 7 different wall sections for each faction, complete with damaged models and buildup+damage animations.
