So... when will this mod have enough material to get more than 1 topic that's four pages long? I mean, some mods have topics discussing one unit that are longer than this (of course I realize it's new, but still)

Well, so far as I know not much work is being done ATM. We each have school and real life to attend to, and Lauri can't really do anything until Matias' work is completed.
For right now, we plan on only having this topic to post updates in - but that may change, but that's fairly far in the distance as of yet.
Cheers,

I agree. Getting a sub-forum would be a waste. Stick with this until you got enough expectation. Also, people are always coming to look at ideas more than going to look at all the sub-forums, so wait til the development is enough for you to get an ad on the 3rdage.net front-page.

You could add the mod to the site though

Er..."cute" isn't exactly how I would describe a battle-hardened Dwarf...

Hello all, I have watched this forum for sum time now, but i never found a reason to reply to a post till now.

A mod all about our Little bearded friends

Oh how i love dwarfs! I wanted to give some input on the Dwarven spear. What about a halberd? they look like an axe but much longer and given some thought im sure you guys could make a really cool one.

here is an image of one I found.

Now if you ask me that is a cool looking spear is it not?

Good work on all the mods guys.

Thanks for the feedback. Matias and I have talked 'bout giving the Khazad Guard halberds quite similar to those, but he's fairly dead-set on giving them broad battle-axes
But, we might implement those somewhere, so who knows?

That IS a nice weapon Yarval.

@2Playgames Good idea to add the mod to the site.

@Elfhelm Khazad Guards realistically wouldnt carry spears as they probably wouldnt be on the frontline of the battle: They would be guarding their leader somewhere in the middle or at a vantage point.

Well, do you know what I mean by halberds? I don't mean just spears, per se..more like a four-and-a-half foot long wooden pole with an iron spearhead for a tip, and an axe head attached to it near the top.

"Khazâd ai-mênu!", shortened to KaM for our purposes, translates to English as, "The Dwarves are upon thee!". As the Dwarves are the main focus of this Mod, we found it suitable.
That, and I there's far too many "something Alliance" Mods as it is, so we like this better :p
As for coding, not much to my knowledge. Last I heard, Matias is working on some things to send to Lauri, where they'll get coded and all, then sent to me to get put ingame.
Cheers,
-mike

of course coding's been done...

all the bloody buildings are in the game already!
Coded in... But, they aren't very customized yet... But that's a quick commandset switch when there's something to build, or something...
So, Erebor is indeed a playable faction... without units, a spellbook, heroes and upgrades... ;) want a beta? :p

There's not any actual, complete, Dwarven buildings ingame yet. Just placeholders.

Well, we're kind of having some problems coming up with ideas for powers.
Feel free to suggest any ideas you have for them, so long as it's nothing unrealistic or foolish.
Here's the power tree, as it stands:
Tier One:
-Heal.
~Bit self-explainotory, eh?
-Baruk Khazad!
~A Dwarven "War Chant."
Tier Two:
-Barzanthul.
~Blatant Anduril/Gandalf the White rip-off for Dain Ironfoot.
-Like Water on a Rock.
~A hairier, axe-ier "Elven Wood."
-UNDECIDED.
~Summon Elven Allies?
Tier Three:
-An Age of Reclaimation.
~Increases resource production of all buildings, and reduces the costs of all upgrades, units, and buildings by -15%. Enables purchase of Dragon Helms from Dwarven Smitheries, and all Gates become stealthed. Resources are generated by all slain enemies.
-Reinforcements from the Lake-men.
~Summons four battalions of Dale Archers and Bard II for a short time.
Tier Four:
-Fair Tidings.
~Summons a large Dwarven Host to a selected area, heralded by a Raven. (Undecided?)
---
Cheers,
-mike
