If the room is empty but there is still light present it will be reflecting what ever colour the light is, be it red or white light.
If it is in a totally dark, pitch black room, then like Alias said, it will still be reflecting something, but the only colour is black.
So therefore, it would be black.

But yeah this one has really kept me up at night.
This is the place where all the junkies go, where time gets fast but everything gets slow.
I'll get to the moon if I have to crawl.
The problem with any government is that it eventually attracts politicians.

I've actually thought about this a lot only without the mirror...like just what nothingess looks like. However, the one time I really tried discussing it seriously with people it rapidly devolved due to a remarkabley poor choice of metaphor by a friend, among other things.
But yeah this one has really kept me up at night.
It looks like nothing! I have solved your dilemma, please rain praise as is appropriate.

You stay awake wondering what nothingness looks like?
It's important, ok!

Many teens today would be mad if Myspace or Facebook had a system failure
and was completely destroyed. If you are one of the people that would
be nicely helping those teens get happy again, copy and paste this into your signature.

On second thought ( ) if the glass is SUPER pure, a mirror is white. Imagine a black ball. When you shine red, it looks black. When you shine blue, it looks black. When you shine green, it still looks black. All impure mirrors and glasses are green. If you look into a glass sideways you will see a green mist. So if your mirror is not made of extremely pure glass then your mirror is green.
But consider now a white ball. When you shine red, it looks red. When you shine blue, it looks blue. When you shine green, it looks green. Same as a mirror would do.

One could similarily ask the question, does something have a colours when there is no light than cen be reflected back to the observer? If it is pitch black, is a normally red apple red?

any ways,if you ever tried and completed finding out what it was then you would have defeid the phsyics of life (witch is phsically impossible)the only way i say you can defy the phsics of life and gravity along with time would be during your dream phase of your sleep, even trying to solve that in ones mind would mainly explode it!( )so in conclution,it would not be any color,it would be clearer than pure water itself,it is white light reflected into multiple colors based on the three primary colors red, green, and blue (no,yellow is simply not a primary color,it is made of green and red, don't trust me?but some water on your television*if it's the old glass ones*and look at it very closly, its made of red blue and green, though it's a common mistake)so it's simply white light,so pretty much there is no mirror on earth that can show it's true color,it's not possible....so mirrors have no true color.
xD i feel like a smart ass!

keeping that in mind it makes sence to say that a mirror looks exactly the same as anything else when there is no light reflecting off it. if there no reflected light you can't see it and so the parts of our eyes/brain would register it as shear blackness.
