Politically Correct? Fuck that Noise!

George Carlin might be the single most one of my favorite free thinkers and proponants of free speech. He does not mince words and does not accept political correctness. One is not physically challenged, they are crippled. They are not visually impared, they are blind.
Why do we find comfort in adding more words to obvious outcomes to make it easier to swallow the truth?
Why do I have to go through rigorous security checks at an airport, the chances of being killed by a terrorist attack is near zero. Choose to have alittle excitement in your lives.
Why am I told by constant bombardments of ads to eat more crap. I have enough crap already. I buy crap, I share my crap with others. I'm measured on my ability to attain MORE crap.
These are some of the fundamental questions one needs to ask themselves. Do I need to buy more crap and where shall I store my existing crap. That is why we have boxes. To put our crap in.
Then we have another place to store our boxes of crap.
Do I need to be told what words I am allowed to use from the english language? Who made these rules? Why do I have to accept being told "you can't say that" Why can't I?
I just did?! I'm a gringo and a cracker. I'm also a yankee. I'm an old fart, a dumb fuck, and genuinely hostile.
I'm a corporate slave, going bald, I have small lips, I'm growing hair on my shoulders. I'm basically a conservative nutjob, I also check out girls asses even if thier only 16.
Since when did we lose our nerve to be open about who we are? Are we really all that bad or are we programmed to keep it all to ourselves? Why does a friend think it's a tough thing to come out of the closet and openly state thier gay? For the most part, you ALREADY knew they were gay and didn't care to begin with.
People we really need to get over ourselves. I understand these are fast changing times, some change faster than others. But people, get a grip, loosen up.
And don't forget societies greatest motto: better living through chemistry. Maybe you understand, maybe you don't.
That's just my thoughts so far on the topic.

I don't know, but you know, I agree with you on many things, but some things considered "PC" I agree with:
Happy Holidays: Keeps it short, okay? I say Happy Yule to someone, hes Christian or Jewish. I could have just said Happy Holidays, makes it much easier. Then again, why the heck would I say Happy Yule, seriously the chances of that person being a pagan are practically none. But yeah, just an example. Then of course theres the people who are so infuriated by the phrase "Happy Holidays" they may verbally assault you for saying Happy Holidays. *cough* Seriously, thats psychotic, more psychotic than all the PC stuff put together.
Native Americans: I don't want to have to ask everytime someone says "Indian" "Uh, which kind of Indian do you mean? India-Indians or Native Americans?" it's awkward.
For the most part, though, I kinda agree.

Take black people, and those from the Middle-East. Most of the ones I know hate being called 'coloured'. Tbh we don't actually have a name for the Middle-East, except Arabs and even then you'd find a shitload of them who hate that term.
No matter what, you can't please everyone. Someone is always going to feel somehow stigmatised or oppressed, no matter how much you euphemise.
While on the one hand I don't condone going out and calling people niggers (although black people think it's OK to call eachother this word? I really don't see how that works), kikes, yops, pakis, spastics, etc. Far from it - that's the other face of the same coin as PC if you ask me.
This is one point, however, where I agree with Hostile. It's not a chalkboard, it's a blackboard. The colour of the board is black. You don't see us getting all sketchy for calling the other kind a whiteboard.
Regardless, there are the blatant slur words, there are the words nobody objects to, and there are the PC words. Even at my university the tutors' doors have to have their first names initialised to prevent gender bias. I mean, WHAT?! It's their fucking NAME! How is it gender biased to show my tutor's name as 'Jeremy Phillips' on his door as opposed to 'J. Phillips'? Perhaps we should lose the terms 'man' and 'woman' while we're at it!?
Equal opportunities? Yes, sure, there shouldn't be discrimination based on race etc for a job but there are some groups of people who are clearly unable to perform certain tasks. A blind person for quality control...sorry, not sensible really. I believe there are some jobs for which certain, possibly very large groups of people are physically incapable. And while that is unfortunate, it is also the truth.
I'm an equal opportunity asshole, at least. Not even deities escape my judgement.

Yule is actually just the Germanic word for any feast occurring around the winter solstice. In Scandinavia they still call Christmas Yule, without any strange connotations whatsoever. Then again, why the heck would I say Happy Yule, seriously the chances of that person being a pagan are practically none.
Indeed. Trying to muddle the truth is one thing, using old misconceptions in spite of the well-known truth is another. I thought we figured out hundreds of years ago that America wasn't India?Native Americans: I don't want to have to ask everytime someone says "Indian" "Uh, which kind of Indian do you mean? India-Indians or Native Americans?" it's awkward.
Hate for being called coloured comes from its use to discriminate them. And to be honest I think it's a silly term as any, because I'm coloured as well. Pink is a colour.Take black people, and those from the Middle-East. Most of the ones I know hate being called 'coloured'. Tbh we don't actually have a name for the Middle-East, except Arabs and even then you'd find a shitload of them who hate that term.
And what about 'Middle-Easterns'?
It's worse. Apparently a black guy got annoyed with me once because I scalded him for using 'nigga'. He then proceeded to explain that 'nigga' is ok, and 'nigger' is not, despite them sounding exactly the same. So next time you hear someone say that, ask for the spelling first to see whether it's the offensive or non-offensive spelling. While on the one hand I don't condone going out and calling people niggers (although black people think it's OK to call eachother this word? I really don't see how that works)
Some people really do want it both ways. They shout about being discriminated, but they go to great lengths to be as different as they can be.

I'm actually aware of that, but I'm speaking in a North American sense.
Most people here don't know what Yule means (at least casually).

They'd whine about that, too.And what about 'Middle-Easterns'?

Nobody can win in a world where everyone's a loser.
God, if I were sad, I would quote myself for that one. Of course, only sad people quote themselves. I demand someone quote me for it instead!
