Whew :evgr: A Lot of work has been done in the past month. The Rohan faction is finally really starting to take shape and I hope to have them completed in the next month or two. Hehe... I had quite a scare though when I found a serious bug in my mod. Luckily, I finally found what it was after several weeks of searching. The AI also has been greatly improved and should be fully functional for the Rohan faction when finished :good:

Ok, I decided to split the peasants up into two seperate units: Rohan Farmers and Drafted Soldiers. I also added six new skins to the exitsting three I made before :)

Rohan Farmers

The main population of Rohan. These units have the ability to throw rocks, attack with tools, and repair structures.

Drafted Soldiers

Helm's Defenders

Being the elite warriors of Helm's Deep, these units are capable of withstanding brutal attacks from the enemy.

This is the unit I used in my tutorial :p Since they are elite warriors, they get similar armor :umad: All other units for Rohan have at least three random skins

Rohirrim Lancers

Human rohirrim models originally skinned by Nertea. Everything else, including the new horse skins were made by me :thumbsupdrool: Also, if you notice, the horse model is a much higher poly one than the EA version.

16 normal skins + 16 upgrade skins + 13 shields + __ horses = a lot of random texturing!!!

In other news, Smeagolfan24 donated some awesome Edoras Militia voices! If anyone else is interested in doing voices, please let me know asap :cool2:

That's all for now

P.S. The 45 hour thing is a joke from one of my art studio classes... There are actually 45 images in this update :crazed:

Awesome rob! :thumbsupdrool: I love the effort and quality you put in to make each skin and model different! The new palantir for farmers is kinda scary though :p I'm sure if I've said so before, but I really love the diverse banners! They add a whole lot to a screen. :evgr: :umad:

Looks really nice, though I don't really like the name, "Helm's Defenders"...maybe, "Westfoldmen"? Just seems a bit more Rohan-ey, IMHO.
Other than that, kudos on the really nice skins, the Helm's Defenders' shield in particular :thumbsupdrool:
Cheers,

It's very good. Though I don't like the fact that you have women in the peasant horde... Weren't all of the women deep inside the caves when Helm's Deep was sieged ?

I actually like the name and it fits them pretty well. These units are the elite of Rohan and Westfoldmen really wouldn't fit that well. I could name them Royal Guard, but Helm's Defenders is much more unique :p

Rohan is a faction that doesn't have uniform armor so it fits them really well :w00t: Plus, like you said, I just love randomness :p

Oh boy... not again :) Yes, I'm fully aware that women played no factor in the battle of Hem's Deep, but I am a huge feminist, so they're staying no matter what. You'll have women with the farmers, drafted soldiers, and the edoras militia. You'll also have Eowyn as a playable hero. Argue all you want about how it isn't in the books or movies, but I'm keeping them :p

Awesome Rob! It all looks amazing!
But, I have a question. How is the different weapons thing going to work, if at all? You know, where you could pick between sword, axe, or spear?

By purchasing one of three upgrades in the Edoras Militia commandset, they sort of "transform" into a new unit  The animations change for the appropriate weapon and you get a new weaponset, armorset, and locomotor. They also gain a new unique ability depending on the weapon :)

Oh, forgot to mention this, but structures no longer auto-repair. You have to use farmers to repair structures. Pretty cool, huh :thumbsupsmiley:

PS. Not one person has mentioned the horse textures yet!? Those are my favorite part of this update! I have seen very few (if any) mods that have added high resolution horse textures. Fine, let's have a contest... how many horse textures did I make?

sorry my fault, it's the guy on the left, which is standing in front.
dunno why i said it like that...
but there are more with some huge noses... you could just say it's typical for people of rohan

Really? Hmmm... I will admit, one has a fairly large nose but I think the others are fine. What others are you talking about?

uh, 45 horse textures

How about actually counting them in the pictures  You'll get a prize if you guess right :thumbsupsmiley:

And haven't said it yet, so, great update! The horsemen and Helm's Defenders were my favorite part of it, and I have to agree with Taralom, that one guy's nose is pretty big :)
