When you get my age, women don't talk about if, they talk about when, they masterbate.

The reason they feel ashamed and dirty is because they dont want to admit it, seeing as it's personal... just because you are open about it doesn't mean they are. Plenty of people feel uncomfortable talking about it, let alone ''admitting'' it.

Some girls see it as part of teen culture that it is only (and I loled when I heard one girl say this) "looser girls who masturbate, because they can't get boys".

The fact that they say this doesn't mean they don't do it, and I know that women do masturbate, but I'm sure that men will masturbate more frequently than women.

Seeing that most of the porn that i have come across predominantly caters to the needs of the male customer regardless of orientation, it is obvious that it fails to address the needs of potential female customers. Assuming that male fancying female is the dominant characteristic of male sexual inclination, it is obviously the eye of the man that captures most of porn (picture and video) today and, of course, thinks male when envisioning someone watching that meterial. That also holds true of homosexual porn, be it gay or lesbian. Always the 'eye of man'. That makes it rather hard for a woman to find herself in other than possibly in the role of the devout abusee. What's really 'funny' in this regard is that women who are both into women and into S&M have (as far as i could glean from conversation) in some cases a thing for gay S&M porn, seeing that it revolves mainly around the theme of dominance and not gender as well as having no specified role for the female, meaning that the starring of an all male cast makes the 'switching' in the mind of the beholder somewhat easier and females don't get the heterosexual 'male' treatment.

That's an excuse and a lie... seriously... I'd find it sort of funny if you'd actually believe them. Very naive.

What Hostile said, denying it is just... well, normal I suppose at a certain age. After a while people tend to stop seeing sex and masturbation as such a big deal.

Indeed, but the magority of porn watchers would be men, im guessing. and I know some couples also watch it to.

That is only the case because it is more socially acceptable for men to watch it. The society we live in has done its utmost for centuries to suppress women's natural urges. It's only in the last ten or so years that women's sexuality has been explored and the taboos are starting to break down.

But a lot of women shun the idea of masturbating and watching porn.

You have been talking either to nuns, or liars. If every woman were to be honest, they, on average, masturbate as much as, if not more than, males.

That may be true (can't say), but in any case, i reckon a woman's urge for sexual fulfillment is not far away from that of a man (on average).

Who's to say it isn't the same as or more? Sex is fun, what more can be said? It's a pleasurable activity and we are inclined to pursue activities we find pleasurable. And I should imagine most women find it pleasurable. Simple psychology therefore says that they'd likely do what they enjoy and cease to do what they do not. Our nervous system is designed to make sexual activity pleasurable, to ensure that we actively seek out and do it, because it's linked with the survival of the species.

Even when you make it impossible for the act to end up in reproduction, the connection's still there. Therefore, we do it because we're hedonistic beings and we enjoy things that feel good. That is lust. Is it so wrong?

And while some may shun the idea of being inspired by porn whatever the reason, i can't see anyone shun the idea of masturbation, except for those people (man or woman) on a trip of self denial.

This sort of business is a highly personal thing. Not everyone's comfortable talking about it, or telling the truth about it. It's a taboo, it isn't normally socially acceptable to discuss it.

Hehe, when i wrote that, i considered for a moment to elaborate, so as not to be misunderstood. My bad.
When i said 'not far away' i didn't mean 'not much less'. I meant 'possibly different' on account of not having a statistically relevant amount of data to accurately extrapolate from. But i am sure the numbers wouldn't be far off, above or below.

Who said I believed them? Thats why I said I loled, because I found it stupid and pathetic.

Girls do masturbate, yes I accept that. But maybe if there was a way of finding out an actual statistic... I just think that men would do it more.

I'd have to agree, but as stated somewhere above primarily because of man's role as the doted-on son when it comes to sexual freedom (more or less). Women are much more restricted, both in freedom of thought and deed. And that holds true in 'western civilized' societies as well as in less liberal countries.

Well, what would it look like in different society? I can only guess, but i believe it could easily be the other way around. I have to check out some stuff about matriarchic communities before i comment further on that.
