Hey Phoenix, I got an exception error when trying to do a bombing run. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this same error. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident.

EDIT: Apparently, it happens on every planet. Exception error on Berchest and Tatooine when I attempted a bombing run.

No problem has appeared to me. I have made a lot of bombing runs on different planets and nothing happens, just the typical bombing run.

You are not alone!
It always comes up with an exception error! :p
Not only that but it comes up with exception errors on the galactic map when I play galactic conquests and keeps appearing in the same place every time I reload! ;)
Do you think I need to reinstall the game?

I was right!
It seemed uninstalling FOC and reinstalling it worked! I also deleted the FOC folder as well which got rid of the mod so you have to download it again.

Could you tell me which bombers you had in orbit? Also any carriers. Or rather, test it with different bombers and find out which one does it, because I've gotten runs to work fine, but I'm not sure if I tested them all.

Okay. I'm pretty sure there's still going to be a problem with bombing runs though, although that may fix some of your other exceptions that I don't get.

When i play as the Empire... if i have skiprays in orbit and call for the bombing run, i think they were the base skiprays if that makes a difference, get an exception, I move the skiprays away, tie bombers come in as normal. First time i noticed it was on Corellia... but it did it on other planets as well.

It does it on the Rebels as well... but i havn't figured out which unit it "might" be K-wings... but i'v been playing as the Empire more of late because of the space sation bug ><

Probably ATRs; I've gotten K-wings to work.

Station bug?

yeah. K-wings and b-wings both work (B-wings override K-wings when both are in orbit, or a ca ship with b-wings onboard is in orbit)

B-wings do? That's weird. I thought it was determined by the auto-resolve values, but those would favor K-wings.

I also found these two exceptions. When trying a bombing run with Skiprays, my game crashed.

I also have the crashing issue at seemingly random times. The way it happens for me is: while I'm playing the Empire campaign, my game will crash. I was playing on the 137-planet map as the empire. If I reload, my game will crash at exactly the same time that it crashed previously. I've tried to look for a single event that was causing the crash, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Does the game keep a log of what happens when it crashes? That might be able to help you pinpoint this problem.

Just FYI, originally I thought this might be because I had a bad install, so I re-downloaded the mod and re-installed the game, and the same crash is happening. I saw at least one other person mention a crash exactly like this one in another thread. Hopefully you'll be able to find some kind of solution, because as it stands, I can't continue for more than an hour or so in any campaign as the Empire ;_;

I have the exact same problem. It does only seem to be on the GFFA map though. Not sure if it's only as empire.

It might be the AI using the false bombers on other planets. See if it happens after the AI wins a space battle.

I was able to verify that the crash happens regardless of what side I'm playing. At some point during the GC game, the game just crashes. PR, your idea about the AI using their broken bombers is interesting. Have you identified which bombers on each side are broken?

If you have, is there a simple way to disable them in the XML?

Hopefully we can figure this crash thing out, because I'd *really* like to put your mod through its paces, PR ^^

If I'm correct, it's the Skipray and the ATR, which aren't even bombers.

I think so, but I actually need someone to test it. I had assumed that <Is_Bomber> would control whether or not a unit was able to do bombing runs. However, the fact that it's giving exceptions leads me to believe that <Ship_Class> actually controls this. You'll have to go in the XMLs for these two ships and change <Ship_Class> to Fighter and see if that fixes it. However, there may be more than one thing causing exceptions; I don't know.

Thanks :). I'm sure you can find things to do if you poke around this forum; basically anything that's open is still unresolved in some way.

I think the crashes in galactic conquest have something to do with the AI as the AI doesn't seem to work on the mod after I redownloaded it.

I think that there is some kind of log which it messions when it says there's an exception; they're located in the forces of corruption folder as a Notepad file (I think). Not sure if it helps as it might as well be in another language for me to understand what it's on about; I'm guessing it's talking about the lines of code that aren't working.
