I got tired of making multiple topics for each map I did work on so I made 1 topic for all maps.

just one thing:
The areas in Moria using this moria ground object are passable, but you can't build buildings there, right?

Everything looks great :crazed:

that would be correct. I still have like 3/4 of the map to do, my plan is for it to be a 4 player map 1 player in each corner room and a long chamber connecting the top 2 corner rooms, and the same for the bottom 2 corner rooms. The middle will be a large hall similar to the one seen in FOTR, I wont be using the floor templates so it will be all buildable in the center.

Me neither...

Great work with these map conversions njm, all looking very impressive. You mentioned in one of your other topics that you needed help with minimaps. I could do these for you if it helps, I've done quite a few using mhgollum's tutorial.

Let me know by PM if you require my assistance.

Can you really not build on the moria map?

My thought is to possible the check the object TypeOf stats. See if there is a typeof that allows you to build on top of it.

For those of you having trouble with the Lake-town map, here is the difference:

The celduin map is a bunch of dock segments that span across the river.
The lake-town map is entirely a lake to the right of the map.
Its a map from the campaign.
The player who starts on the right is on an island in the lake, that the town connects to.
The town itself is very large with many outposts, Inns and shipyards.

ok, one thing about the Moriamap:
Put the Objects 2 feet below the original height, so you don't see them.
Then use the texture tool and use "visible".
Just change the whole maps textures to invisible and you see the objects below normal height, but you can walk and build at original height. If the difference is only a few feet noboy will notice it:P

The blue mountains is using the lighting that EA put into it, and it is dark. And I havent got around editing the lighting options on the moria map,. I will most likely wait till the map is complete before I do. As Im still a relativly new at this Im learning as I go, and the lighting options are something that Im not familiar with yet.

The problem with the lighting on the blue mountains map is one I encountered when I converted this map (for my own use) as a skirmish map. There is a few lines in the map ini, which refer to cloud texture. I imagine that, like me you have not copied the map ini across (especially from a campaign mission, that would mess up a skirmish map) :s

To solve, simply go into the blue mountains ini (or any other for that matter) find the lines that refer to cloud texture, and make a new map ini in the maps folder with this code snippet in. If you have trouble finding it I'll post it for you.

Ill be sure to copy over the map ini, for the blue mountains.

As for Moria yes that is correct, It isnt finished at all in fact the two rooms you see are all that is done on the map and Im still working if Im satisfied with it or not. I would actually prefer to make my meap similar to the Dwarrowdelf map for RA as it has all the element of Moria that fit what I think is appropriate. That map may very well may end up being scrapped entirely once I figure new things out, and get a better layout. I dont know how Mh_gollum would feel if I copied his layout for moria. so I still have decisions to make. But all your thoughts and opinions are important to me so I will take them into consideration.
