Well now it's finally here. The new version of the Keating Konflict. Currently its got only a single faction, however we've spent a lot of time trying to make it as playable as possible.

And there's a lot of nice changes, such as:
  • Reduced download size (100MB -> 4MB)
  • Startings of a new theatre
  • 2 included maps
  • Temporary cameos to increase playability
  • The website has unit-by-unit descriptions
  • God willing, a Command & Conquer style atmosphere.

So please download and try out the Keating Konflict. And be sure to let us know what you think!

(updated download link)

 ok i got a couple things to say.

1/ thing i'd like to say is..

congratulations on how far you've gone into the coding of this Mod.

now what i saw in the game i didn't like was the tanks firing the ammo was slanted and off a little...
i dont know if you can fix that or not...

the AA missiles are too slow.. well for me IMO

the balance of it all still needs work

i hope this helps the bug fix

This was intential. The idea was to create inaccuracy in the game. Tanks can kill infantry, if they hit them.

I do agree that it can be a little annoying sometimes, as at certain angles the projectiles always miss. The first shot is usually worse than the second. Unfortunately, short of making the projectiles home, I cannot fix this gripe.

The SAM Sites struggle against spy planes. Helicopters and other targets are usually disposed of relatively quickly.

Would you be able to pinpoint certain areas that require work? The game has the warheads and damage values as C&C, so God willing weapons themselves should be balanced. As for vehicles, I wanted them to have a realistic advantage -- but of course this is reflected in supply cost.

i hope this helps the bug fix

Any feedback is always helpful. My thanks.

The Keating Konflict does not use the XCC Mod Creator/Launcher because, in my experience, I've never got it to work. All the other mods (Robot Storm, Future Crisis etc.) all crashed as soon as I opened them. (Although I still got to play them as they dumped their files in the YR directory) Therefore I don't use them, although I may eventually come up with a homemade alternative.

Fear not, as the mod has only three files: expandmd55.mix, ecachemd55.mix and konflict.pkt. It shouldn't be too hard to install/remove them. You may have to change your Rock[N]Patch version.

I hope that this helps you, Tobias.
