Okay, if you're looking for something to do, here are some things that need to be verified. Basically, I've programmed the AI to take advantage of some of the planetary advantages as they relate to structures. For example, they should be building mines on planets with the mining colony advantage (the lists won't match exactly because I didn't update them recently). I'm not really sure if they're doing this or not. The best way to check is to use your spy heroes and/or spy networks. The following structures should be showing up on the subsequent list of worlds always (assuming they've had enough time to be built):

Level 5 Starbase

  • For the CSA
    • Esseles
    • Fondor
    • Fresia
    • Kuat

I have created a testgalaxy for people to use. Just download the zip file and put the contents into the xml directory of the mod. It adds a second FarFarAway galaxy at the end of the campaign list with all planets revealed and a special corvette at your home planet which will allow you to see everything in the whole galaxy.

Only download if you really want to help testing!!! It's somewhat of a spoiler of course. The other campaigns will not be affected. Happy testing!

Thanks, Zarkis . I've been debating with how to reveal the FoW for the player (since there is no option in GameConstants like there is for the AI) and I was thinking of just adding a massive spy network at your home planet, but the corvette is probably a better option since it doesn't break the other campaigns. However, the Rebel one appears to be buildable, while the Imperial one isn't :p. Also, try giving it this tag: <Can_Participate_In_Space_Battle> with a value of No, since you'll probably want to test it on Hard, but without worrying about defenses and such.

Everything goes in the mod's XML folder. You may want to backup the files it replaces though.

what I do with temporary changes is I "copy" the real folder into "my documents".. then later I just put the folder back and overwrite all the files.. making notes ahead of time as to which files I want to keep as is

where do you add this tag line? can you show us what it will look like directly and where to put it? (line before and aftr please) to avoid confusion

Just copy this:

<Can_Participate_In_Space_Battle>No</Can_Participate_In_Space_Battle>
And paste it anywhere on his unit in SpaceUnitsCorvettes_TEST_Corvette.xml. Anywhere between <SpaceUnit Name="TEST_Corvette"> and </SpaceUnit>; it makes no difference.

Here are my findings from a bit of testing (playing as Rebel).

(1) There is something wrong with the CSA: It can't build spaceships and after a spacebattles their whole fleets just disappear. It builds land units just fine.

EDIT: Tested it again. The CSA sends a full fleet to Cadomai and I get the message that the black sun pirates won a space battle at Cadomai with no loses. However both the pirate station and the whole CSA fleet are gone.

(2) The CSA can't build it's initial spacestation. I think, building the first spacestation is hardcoded and not controlled by a script. Upgrading an existing station works. EDIT: Scrap that. I got it to build stations.

(3) The Empire does not upgrade it's stations (I saw it happen only once).

(4) On Kessel the Empire built a light vehicle factory and turbolaser towers. In general, it did not build the stuff it should build according to the first post.

That's strange about the CSA. I'm not sure how fleets just disappear (unless they went to the Dreighton Nebula :D). Maybe I should add Karrde to the game so he can find them .

I've already adjusted the desirability to upgrade stations, so maybe (hopefully) that's obsolete. While Kessel is disappointing, I'm hoping that it's a special case with only two slots.

PR-team,

Similar to the Thrawn thread - do you folks still want info on this? I've got limited play time (the Navy just won't pay me to play games-go figure) but I'm more than willing to use some of it to check this sort of thing if the data will still be useful.
