I was playing as Mordor playing against a Brutal Arnor. I hated facing a Brutal Arnor because the AI kept spamming trebuchets. Soon my base was almost destroyed, all I had left was my two level 2 siege works behind the base. So I started to spam out my catapults too because that's the only thing I could make and it could reach the trebuchets. Soon I started to hold back his army, I also had enough money since each catapult was 300 to buy all the Nazguls on felbeasts and the Witchking. Soon I started to rebuild some of my orc pits and orc tents. I made an army in secret and soon attacked. Luckily I had the Balrog spell available. I took down the wall with catapults and my felbeasts. I sacrifice them so I could send my army of like 5 orc pikemens and 5 morann orcs in to destroy his base. I summoned the Balrog first and sent him in first, then I sent in my army. I used the Balrog to destroy buildings in his base. Also I was lucky that my Balrog was taking all the damage. Soon I destroyed the AI's base and won!!!

Here's a short film of the catapult versus trebuchets.

This should technically go to replays or videos thread, but whatever :p I'll watch it now.

I beat Brutal Arnor once as Angmar, but it was very very hard. I had to use loads of Trolls, and I strongly relied on my CAH hero, the Snow Troll Theris.
I got all my heroes up to lvl10. Karsh's passive Chill ability is devastating by then - nearby units die within seconds.

I had a battle sort of like that. 4 vs. 4 battle, my guy and I beat one enemy and started to pummel the other guy's base with all of our troops. He had like a barracks somewhere that we couldn't find, but he sent Aragorn and Gandalf to our bases. Well... we lost... ...

We should make a ranking above even insane and make the AI as insane as posible. Brutal Arnor is a pain, but you do get used to it eventualy. My only wish is for a perfect AI for the ultimate opponent.

P.S.
We should call it 'Illigaly Insane' difficulty, be-he he...

In our beta, the first thing brutal goblins get is a troll :xcahik_:

I've beaten all the AI Brutal races. I found Arnor and Goblins hardest, although Isengard was pretty hardcore too.
I hate those stupid Dunedain Knights, they're too hard to kill. They just sweep round crushing all your farms and stuff, and the only way to beat them is with, like, five batallions of spearmen and hill trolls. They can crush heroes completely, even high level ones. Gah.

Ooo, just played Brutal Arnor and did anyone notice they never make pikes? Just get the calvery up and trashing them shouldn't be hard. Rohan really kicks em' hard (Especialy with the royal calvery and their insane speed ability).

How the hell did you increase the difficulty on Brutals? :xd: They already get a -50% cost bonus. What'd you do, give 'em a x10 CP bonus and a +100% anti-handicap?

Or did Rob actually make them semi-intelligent, so I can't trample 85 gajillion swordsmen with Battlewagons before they bother getting pikes enough to exhaust my oil barrel abilities?

It's the new balance. No one unit counter to anything :xd:

Does the new difficulty actualy make the computer more stragegic or do they gain extra benifits, like stronger units?

No...it's just that the units they get are collectively more effective, since a one unit archer or cav or soldier spam can't usually beat off their waves...unless it's a mordor orc spam...but still :p

That works in reverse, too.
