I probably would, but the news section really is one of the least looked at area. When everything for Lothlorien is done, then I'll probably post a very nice new post.

Rob, this is a masterpiece. That is honestly one of the sickest things I have ever seen with the Elf up there and all. Just one question, can you get both a Barracks and a Stable at a single Training Grounds, or will you need two?

. Nice work, Rob! You are always full of supprises. I get more anxious day by day. Getting anxious and ticked because I want to play better new version. Also, when you do Elrond's armour reskin (if, anyways), all you have to do is bring back a cuirass similar to those in the unmodded BFME opening video thingy and a blue cape (he wore one similar to Elrohir's).

As Shikari stated, you will need 2 training grounds. The idea is for a little extra money you can have 2 of the different unit types, but if you could have all three is would be overpowered and unable to balance. With how it is set up, it should balance between the other factions.

This is all just another step to have all the factions have their unique styles, while also trying to stay within Tolien's Middle-Earth.

 Was that directed towards me? 'Cause if it was, I was saying that I need BFME2 - with which to play this mod ;)
If it wasn't, then please ignore this post :p
EDIT: Wow...this much advancement, and only for a third of the entire Faction. I cannot WAIT to see what else is in store.
Also...will the individual buildings' architectual style change with the sub-factions?
Third...will any buildings/upgrades be used only by that specific sub-faction?
Cheers,
-mike

That's what I was hoping for :p

From what I've heard, yes, buildings will be skinned to the Subfaction. Don't know about sub faction specific upgrades though, I doubt it, don't want it to be too much like Men of the East.

I like it too, as I have said, but I just decided to say this. Elrohir should have a mount upgrade. Some of the translations from Sindar to normalspeek are as follows: el can meen, in this situation, elf or star; rohir meens rider or horse-lord (remind anyone of our little friends that is part of the mod?). No need to worry about Elladan, though. The power that should be replaced on Elrohir is Elendil. Also, will Elrond be reskinned? Armour reskin? It's pretty crappy now. Also, will Elrond's crap armour be reskinned... ever? I know it should and probably is low on priority list but just throw a blue cape on him like that worn in the LA by him and he'll be a ton better.

could Haldir get one more power ? if nothing else at least some exp giving ability, though i would like something that can be used only if toogle weapon to sword ( if bow, he can at lvl 10 use the sun arrow or whats the name ), maybe an attack hat deals medium dmg and knocbacks enemies ( i think Arvenduil has something like that, power sword, or whats the name ). becouse he has just 3 powers right now.

Every building you have will be completely different based on the subfaction...if you're asking if they change when you purchase the second or third subfaction, I don't think so. This doesn't count the Shrine though. Upgrades will probably be universal, but there might be some special ones like lorien bows or rivendell armor or something that we could add.

I too like it very much. Those Lorien buildings (fortress, towers and barracks) are the most beautifull creations I've seen so far in modding. It even seems to surpass EA (at least in creativity).

A quick side note:

Nazgul is back in the house!!!

A question to the mod team.

Are you planning to allow other mod-teams to use some of your elvish content, or are these beautifull buildings going to be limited to the RJ-mod?
The material is of such a quality, that I could imagine other mods might (such as WoA) might be very interested in it.

That really depends. I know once the final version is release rj will release some of the stuff he's done, but I could see him wanting to keep this solely for rj.

This is something that has been on my mind lately. I've always known that whenever RJ is finished I'll open up everything I've done personally to be used as long as credit is given. Some things I've talked with other mods about being used, and I've worked with WoA, SEE, Edain, and a bunch of others. With the amount of work that has been put the Elves, I definitely will not have others use it until after I've had my release with the Elves complete. After that, I do share with mods on an alliance type basis, where we all share assets and help each other out when needed. The idea being that both mods benefit from the work. WoA is part of this group.

So a quick answer? Will I shared it for anyone? When I'm done with RJ. For allianced mods, I'm open to talk about it once the release has been out.

Now, some things to look forward to in terms of Elves. Shikari, EHL, & I have been working on putting together skins/models and more for the remaining units. Next up will be screens of the following units:

Rohan Elven Warriors - regular armor
Galadhrim Warriors (Lothlorien Elite) - Not much new, this was just a shuffling of skins. Rob38's re-mapped skin with the Silverthorne upgrade
Silven Warriors (Mirkwood Elite) - Skin & Model by Shikari. Fix up and binding by robnkarla
Noldor Warriors (Rivendell Elite) - Skin by Eldarion
Rivendell Archer - Model/Binding by me. Skin by Shikari
Mirkwood Spearmen - Model/Binding by me. Skin by EHL/Shikari
Heavy armor for Basic Mirkwood Archers
Heavy armor for Mirkwood Warriors

Things I'd like to show off if we can get them done in time:
Variant skins for Lorien Archers/Warriors (Upgraded shield texture for HA)
Armored Galadriel
Higher Quality Elrond Skins
Reskin of Shrie for Lothlorien & expansions
Last Alliance campaign units
Thranduil re-skin/HA
Glorfindel re-skin/HA

Units still to be worked on (not structures):
Legolas HA
Haldir low armor
Elven Archers for Arnor
Re-work of Marchwarden (Maybe)
Lorien Pikemen
Lorien Cavalry (scout toggle)
Elite Rivendell Infantry
Re-skin Lalaith
Banner Carriers for the new units
I think there probably are more to do, but that's plenty :wink_new:

Units in total for the Elven Faction:
18 units (6 Rivendell, 6 Lothlorien, 6 Mirkwood)
3 siege units (possible 9 skins)
9 heroes with 2 skins & Sam

Now that is a lot of work not counting structures which seem to take the longest how I do them.
Robert J.
