Thanks for that clean summary, Rob it's an example of your boundless skill and effort.

But something kinda bothered me about heavy armour and Mirkwood units. couldn't theyhave unique names i.e. Hardened Leather (for Mirkwood), Noldor Armour (for Rivendell).

I also hope you do Dwarves next and something about their Beastly fortress.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

yeh, after i saw this, The new elven fortress, i think if you remodel each races fortress ( soo they really look that each faction like ) and make it to some awasome model that suits the race, and When you see it you will immediatly know that this IS THAT faction and THIS is THAT faction.

well at least i can tell after seeing a tree full of elfs that it propably belongs to the elven faction :crazed:

hmm something stony, and sturdy for dwarfes :thumbsupsmiley:

Rob, I think it is spelled "Silvan," not "Silven." Also, will Elrond have a cape? His armour was shown having one in the Last Alliance (a nice blue one like Elrohir's.. probably just put that mesh on Elrond). Love the work but I can't help the questions or criticism. I am impatient and after I get the thing... I'm off the forums for about a weak and a half while I relearn how to play. Also... maybe reskinning Haldir and the Galadhrim with skinns simliar to that of TEA?

Also (I'm double-posting because my last post was days ago), I think it perfectly fine to use armour for Mirkwood units. Thranduil wanted to have Mirkwood Elves to have armour after a crippling losses at the Dead Marshes in Dagorlad (hence the name "Dead Marshes)." Oropher (his father) and the other 2/3 of the Mirkwood army were utterly purged during a battle there during the Last Alliance (the battle that Gollum spoke of).

indeed it would be more logical for mirkwood to have armor... or maybe as an upgrade or something.

would you go to war with just leather clothes or would you wear armor?

I would agree with that on some level however if you were a Mirkwood ranger who ambushed people from the tree's would you want to be wearing armour  ?

But yes for there foot soldiers, basic archers and pikemen amour is perfectly fine.

exactly, units that fight from cover, and dont engage combat directly ( Archers mostly ) are fine with just leather armor, you may not believe it but hardened leather, with pieces of metal, added to some parts of it, can be usefuller then it sounds.

Yes i don't disagree with that at all and having a heavy leather amour as well as a heavy amour is a great idea.

I agree, but for a ranger, have a heavy armour upgrade that just puts on a bit of leather and stuff (like the CaH Elf leather pads). Also, a nice tip: ignore noobs like the guest who posted above me as he obviously doesn't know that much about our system and how it works (in otherwords, most guests).

Well, time for some more screens, this time of Elven units. In this post I'll include screens of units you've seen before, but now in a different context as well. Also, I'll be showing off the random textures & heavy armor upgades.

So here we go:

Galadhrim Warriors - (Lothlorien Elites) and Haldir. Skins and re-mapped model by Rob38 - Helm's Deep Last Hope

Mirkwood Fighters - Model by robnkarla, skin by Shikari

Rohan Elven Warriors - Model by Shikari/robnkarla, skin by Shikari (As stated earlier, these are the non-armored version of the unit)

Rivendell Archers - Model by robnkarla, skin by Shikari. I really didn't get a good shot of the cloak, which is one of the best parts

For right now, the Silvan Warriors, Galadhrim Warriors, and Noldor Warriors are the hero-hordes. My plan is to adjust the m.h.h. to be closer to the regular units and remove the number restrictions. I'm still not happy with any plan to adjust them that I'm 100% happy with, so it's still up in the air.

I really like the Mirkwood units, especially the Spearmen. :D

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides
By the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will,
Shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness,
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

love them :) though i do think the galadhrim warriors look kinda sad :D

and the thing the mirkwood units wear for their mouth should not only cover their mod but also a large, maybe even whole their neck... just try to put on such kinda thing :)

wait a second, what do you mean to do with the hero hordes ?

for as i get it right now, elfs can gete 2 hero hordes at one time, the Noldors, as the main faction, and for example Silvan warriors as subfaction hero horde.

well that sounds good to me ( id really love to see additionall hero horde for Isen too ), but im agianst it - to make m.h.h weaker and unlimited. Most people have some weird kinda of grudge aginst m.h.hs but i personally like them much. WHY couldnt there be " someone " who was wery good warior, but newer earned the fame, soo he could be a " hero ". I thin mini hero hordes are great ( at least the idea, though i hope few of them get changed, or redone )

Right now you get a different hero horde depending on your subfaction, I think. For hero hordes, they're so unbalanced and cheap atm rob's planning on just turning them into normal units.

Great job rob!

I do like the concept of m.h.h., but right now they are OP. One of the things that has really annoyed me since RotWK came out was the limitations on them, not because I wanted to have more but I wanted to use the in WotR. They are pretty much pointless in one whole aspect of the game.

My goal is to have them be a little weaker at level 1 - so roughly not much weaker than fully upgrade elite units at the same level. The will still have their powers, though I will change them a little for balance. Then about level 3-5 or so I want them to pass the elite's in strenth to become the strongest for the faction. Ideally I want all units to be a viable choice while still maintaining the power of the m.h.h.
