Alex, 2.60 is an old version :p

Better NOT use that!!!!

Thud has coded many updates since then - in fact, I STRONGLY recommend to use the latest Unification.

There, the LATEST DoWAI implementation is included. And it has some more updates made by both of us. :xcahik_:

While it may not be the latest version overall, I believe it is the last version for Dark Crusade - unless more recent versions will also work with Dark Crusade?

2.60 was the last Official version for DC but, back then, I back-ported SS 3.20 to work with last DC release. There is a download of that around here afaik.

DC is also good game, and have some players. So i think, its can be useful for some "old people of Dow" :D

i`m going to upload more new mods to Yandex.disk soon

Time ago there was some exe bundled with DOW:AI that allowed the user to tweak some variables. Since the integration in unification or for any standalone race mod I haven't seen it? Was it worthless?

This exe simply makes some basic changes in the AI behaviour in accordance with difficulty.

I think the preset variables are the best !

I trust you but I often, during standalone tests, notice that the AI -mostly in standard- tends to be less threatening in the earlier stages or less rushy compared to the unmodified one. The easy level is really dumb or harmless nonetheless but I would day that in the unmodified AI at least was less timid. Could it be?

We could have always just spammed X,Y,Z unit AND not make the AI tech-up (like vanilla does) but back in 2006 we revamped the entire logic to be smart about stuff and not just "throw everything and the kitchen sink" at the enemy which is, frankly, the easy way out. 9/10 players tell me the AI, even on HARD which is 1:1 to a human player, is too hard. Ugh... how do we win as AI coders when people more or less feel the AI should be "dumbed down" rather then as teaching tools to actually challenge one's self to get better?

Lmao,

Your mod is absolutely terrible. Your mod fails to make the AI more " intelligent" as it tries to replicate " mirco" as " dance and run circles around your army without attacking - slaughtering them without take a single point of damage" stupid. I've also tried a few campaign missions where this retarded shit is so bad I've had entire Ork army on the Hyperion Peaks mission , just straight up walk past my army dying like idiots.

lol, a hater after ten years.

Probably a DoW 3 fanboi :D

Rare.. all projects get those especially when one does not remotely understand that we do this work for free AND good gawd damn luck coding better AI yourself... you'll hit a wall pretty fast ESPECIALLY when said AI then needs to be scalable and modular to work with other mod projects near seamlessly..

It's pretty weird too. That someone would hate on something made 10 years ago.

So my guess is that cundo123 (probably a pun slur on "thudo") must be a DoW 3 fanboi who wants to hate on DoW 1 because DoW 1 fans rejected the piece of shit that was DoW 3.

DoW 3 fans are sad sacks, most aren't 40k fans either, as DoW 3 hardly demonstrates the 40k epicness. They're just trying to make up for their money flushed down the drain.

GW also needs to thank DoW 1 for greatly helping to introduce people to the 40k universe. I don't think anything has promoted 40k better than DoW 1. :)

Well 3 is another deal... whatever... brain-dead consolized RTS crap for modern ADHD gamers.. nevermind... a major blemish for the 40K franchise best forgotten but, regrettably, a-typifies the state of gaming in the modern era which is :thumbsdownsmiley:.

Wayy off on a tangerine..

hahaha

40k has had some pretty bad games, DoW 1 was one of the few good ones and Relic ruined their own creation. Another RTS, Supreme Commander, suffered a similar fate years earlier.

The trend was such as:

RTS with base building, poor path finding and cheating AI [last 90s],

RTS with base building, better pathfinding and improved AI (only cheats on harder levels) [early to mid 2000s]

RTS with base building, squad units and territory conquest [mid 2000s]

RTT/RTS mix (less units, less eco, more micro) [last 2000s to early 2010s]

RTS/MOBA mix (hero units, simpler eco, dumber maps).

As long as the net multiplayer become more relevant, the AI development stopped and the microing with few units started
