Really the shipyards themselves should be very vulnerable and the stations should be additional structures, like the Golans.
He saying that you never actually fight at the shipyards, but on the edge of it, and whether you win or lose depends on the actual shipyards

True. Imperial shipyards, at least are. Take Black 15 (Tyrant's Test). It was destroyed by 8 CM's and an egg.

The egg mentioned being launched into a boundary between two shields, which apparently boosted the power of the blast a couple-fold.Really the shipyards themselves should be very vulnerable and the stations should be additional structures, like the Golans.

The shipyards at Fondor took at least 50 coralskippers to destroy, and I believe coralskippers at maximum acceleration would cause more damage than chemical explosives.

The egg was an anti-shield weapon, it was likely the CMs that did it. The problem with the coralskippers is that we don't know how fast they were going, and what the yield of a CM is. Based on an RPG comparison, the CMs are about twice as powerful as a coralskipper at maximum speed. Still, Fondor was likely a higher-level shipyard, too.
