here is my questions right now.

how to i make a .meg file so i can put new music in.
what do i make models with?

Hey buddy, I'm working on a tool called OS BIG Editor. It was originally made to open and edit the .big files from C&C games. But few months ago, I made it open and save .meg files as well. The tool is under development, but you can get a night build.

You'll need a tool called Tortoise SVN to download it. Install it, restart your pc. With windows explorer, create a new directory where you want to install the program. Right click it and select SVN Checkout. Then, use the url written in this text file and checkout. Whenever you feel like getting an updated version of the program in a later time, just right click the directory and choose Update. It is that simple.



But, if this is complicated for you, you can also download it in a different way:

Download this file. Then, create a directory called 'languages' and place this file on it.

You don't need to recompile into megs to play new music in the mod, buddy :rolleyes: Reason Devs use .Megs to begin with is for storage and compression allowing them to use fewer dvds, saving production cost. Modders can simply put the models, textures, shaders, mp3s, new audio clips.

I've got Star Wars music all coded up. ;)

It's folder based
DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC

Then you reference your music in two xml

MusicEvents(references to the file)
<MusicEvent Name="Military_Strategic_Map_Music_Event">
		<Files>On_Edge.MP3, Schematic.MP3</Files>
		<Volume_Percent>60</Volume_Percent>
		<Fade_In_Seconds>0.0</Fade_In_Seconds>
		<Fade_Out_Previous_Seconds>2.0</Fade_Out_Previous_Seconds>
		<Loop>Yes</Loop>
	</MusicEvent>

Factions(references to Music events)
<Strategic_Map_Music_Event> Military_Strategic_Map_Music_Event </Strategic_Map_Music_Event>

thanks :) but i figured the music thing last night when i used eaw extracter and saw the file locator as you said above :ph34r:

anyone know how to make models?

I can model props :ph34r: Heh, I'm using 3d max8 for modeling cause I don't like Max9.

Hey ,I have some question.

I have Plugin file for 3dx max to import .3dx file to .alo file but I use Max11.
it can use this plugin with Max11 like Max9 version ?
