ok sorry... I'm tired and not really paying attention much... lol... but I'm leaning towards having to make them both vehicles...

'Transformer'.
It wasdone in TS mods a lot, and is ugly, but is the only way I know of.

The vehicle deploys into a static unit, then undeploys into a new vehicle. The new vehicle deploys back into the static, and then into the old vehicle again. Ugly, as I said, but the only way.

Static unit=Like deployed TS artillery or the TS Tick tank.

I didn't call it a building, as the engine seems to differentiate between 'buildings' and proper buildings.

The 'Transformer' effectively has this sequence:

Mobile Tick
Deployed Tick
Mobile XXX <-could be, say, a Titan
Deployed Tick
Mobile Tick

There can be a very, very big number of transformations this way, but a s I said earlier, the system is ugly.
Ugly, because to get from unit A to unit B, you have to deploy and then undeploy each time you switch between them. Also ugly, as you need a 'deployed stage' in between, effectively A->B through C.

One other thought occurrs: The other way could be spawning, like minelayers that use 'infantry' do in mods... I think it'll be worse though.

well... I'm just glad to hear it is possible... once I finish all the frames, then I'll start worrying about coding. since it IS possible, I can go ahead and make the units... thanks

but thing is heero you will have to go through alot of steps just to convert it back and forth. But hay, your the one working on it..not me so knock yourself crazy on trying this out.

Hmm, could have the structure have instant death after creation and explosion be some dummy invisible image as the building is too and just use the free unit option... if it was all perfect player wouldn't notice a thing :D

the thing is with that, when you get the new unit, it is always undamaged.
