Red Alert 2: Redux
Yuri's Revenge Mod using Rock Patch 1.10


Goal and/or Description: This mod sets the pace from Yuri's Revenge back to Red Alert 2, removing Yuri's Side, removing a few of the units and adding things to the newly restored Red Alert 2, while utilizing Yuri's Revenge and Rock Patch logic.

Campaign: The original Red Alert 2 campaign will be restored along with a few extras. This will be done towards the final versions of the mod.

Units: Some units will be removed from Yuri's Revenge, however some units that do not rely on the story line will be kept. Some non-country specific units will be added for both the Allies and the Soviet Union.

Countries: A few new countries have and will be added. Each country will have a specialty such as the United States of America's is tanks, and the Soviet Republic of Russia's is Tesla.
Each country will have a Special Unit, a Special Tank, a Special Ability, A Special Super Weapon and a Replacement Unit.
Each unit, ability, or super weapon will be based on the country's specialty.

Super Weapons: The obvious ones like the Genetic Mutator and the Psychic Dominator will be removed. The primary Allied and Soviet Super Weapons may be removed and replaced, however at the moment they will remain the same. Each individual country will be given their own Super Weapon based on their personal specialty.

sounds interesting.

But i somehow dont believe in Super Weapon-for-each-country ability.

Why not? It's perfectly possible to code that. They won't be powerful Super Weapons like the Weather Storm or the Nuclear Missile, more like small offensive or larger supportive Super Weapons.

There is issue in coding in terms of you can't use weather storm when a weather storm superweapon clone is active and other buggyness, balancing issues.

Wow, don't even give me a chance haha. Wouldn't that have been more appropriate for a PM anyway?
I do have progress, it's just not posted yet, i have quite a bit more than just the ideas, i am infact posting some right now.

Sorry to sound sceptical, but you're removing more than you're adding unit wise? Isn't that like, a horrible move?


I do like the idea of remastered Red Alert 2 on the other hand. Just make it balanced and show enough new stuff. Good luck.

What do you mean removing more than I'm adding? I'm not removing all that much, and granted I'm not adding that much either but I am working to make it balance out properly.

You do realise I have divisional control with other admins and that several mods on Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun Modifications are under consideraton for a revoke of hosting, not just yours.

You sent me a dead forum thread and your other mod The Communist Machine is dead, mod.

Also you've applied for hosting on PPM in past and your mod is archive because yet again you have been inactive

Your public image does not impress anyone, neither does your editing of messages although I understand you though I might have been too aggressive but its my duty as a mod creator/player to give constructive if harsh feedback.

This is not a personal attack but I'm simply stating some facts which people are concerned about.

Yeah thanks, unlike The Communist Machine, this is what I have done for this mod. If you feel the need go ahead and delete TCM, I really don't mind at all.

so wait, are you taking away the YR units? or just the yuri units?(the yuri faction)

cause i think it could be a good idea to make a mod that brings back red alert 2, but still you should keep all the units for the allies/soviets that YR adds

also, maybe give some units from yuri to allies/soviets?

i dont mean as in "give soviets chaos gas, and allies his magnet tech", but as in, maybe a soviet slave miner, for one of the middle eastern allies of the soviets...


also, what about the yuri stuff the soviets had in the original? cloning vats, psychic sensor? will they get these back?

I'm more sure about taking away Yuri Faction units, i may take out some YR units.

I may give some of the logic to the allies as a bonus. Like the Magnet logic would be good to replace the Prism concept i'm thinking about removing.

I was actually thinkin about the Soviet Slave Miner idea, it sounds like interesting idea.

Yeah, i'm giving the cloaning vats, and the original yuri clone, the psychic sensor and stuff.

what about gattling stuff for soviets? maybe another country specific, cause soviets had quad cannons(didnt they in real life?)...

That sounds like a good idea, I'm not sure they had a quad cannon like the one in Generals. I'm pretty sure it was only a Quad Cannon because it had four barrels, but I do like the idea.

Yeah, I googled them and nothing came up, but Generals references the Soviets when it talks about it's Quad Cannons so I don't know. I think it'll end up in my mod though, probably under a different name though.
