Today I have some pleasant news for all WotE fans. MB and I have discussed about the fate of the mod, and we decided that it would be good to give the postition of the mod leader to someone else, as I have completely retired...

The name of the new leader is Kyross. He will take care of bug fixing for Beta 3.2, and hopefully will add some new units/heroes to the mod... I hope this will make people interested of WotE again, and I'm sure that all the staff members, including me, will be anticipating for the results of Kyross' work :thumbsdownsmiley:

I wish good luck to Kyross and also to any other staff member who wishes to carry on working with WotE!

I don't consider Kyross as "leader", but I have faith in him. And now, I, MB, WotE Loremaster, take up my blade of thoughts and wisdom once more, and promise to guide Kyross and the other team members on the destenied path and work together with them for the greater glory of WotE !

I have already alerted Pupeteer, Elendil and Caluadan. Pupeteer has already reported for duty, and I'm sure that Elendil will also come. Not sure about Caluadan, but I hope he'll answer.

I shall assist Kyross and the others in any way possible, just as I helped you back then, Ithron.

Now rise up, people of the3rdage forums ! The work will begin within a few days ! And we shall not fail !

"Well, I can't argue with that - modding IS hard. But what would have become of games like Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Dungeon Siege, Half-Life 1-2, Neverwinter Nights and BfME 1-2 if we, modders, weren't there ? They would have long been forgotten. Modding is hard, but it's an honorable thing." - MorrisB

I didn't consider myself leader either, Morris. Like you mentioned in one post it's open to fan contribution, and I hope to contribute a good deal to finalise this mod as the best and most comprehensive(which I already beleive it to be).

If I don't have to wait a few days to begin work we could probably have some of the errors fixed by then. >:thumbsdownsmiley:

But keep in mind that as you're taking care of fixing the mod, you're the head coder. And head coders are usually the guys that have quite a lot of power over the mods they're working on, so why couldn't we call you a "leader". You and MB are the ones who are in charge of running the mod, since Cal has left the forums.

Caluadan... has left ? Aww :thumbsdownsmiley: he was one of the best artists in the entire forum ! It will be hard to find someone to properly take his place.

And true, Kyross has now lots of power as a head coder... but the mod is something we make together.

BTW Congratulation to Kyross for your new position. :thumbsdownsmiley:

I love logic :thumbsdownsmiley:

Congratulations but i wont be coming out of retirement either to make more maps or did that massive ini for the campaign that would actually make the campaign playable.

good luck i hope that you make wote to continue to be the best mod out of all the bfme series. I dont care if people say rhovanian alliance or S.E.E (no offence just opinion). Wars of the East is the truly the best mod out finished or not :thumbsdownsmiley:

I'm not sure if i'll really be contributing much any more, unless it involves scripting/map.ini for a campaign-I don't play the game online to really want to spend loads of time on it. But for a campaign i'd definately help.

Congratulations Kyross. Hopefully we will see a whole new version of Wars of the East, but we will never forget the leadership of IthronAiwendil. Kudos to all.

I think Caluadan has left, since his photobucket account is dead and he hasn't showed up for a really long time... I wonder where he is.

I agree that there shouldn't be a leader. As long as you maintain the quality of WotE in any further versions you make, I'm happy :thumbsupsmiley:.

I wonder where Cal can be, too... it's not like him to disappear without even saying "goodbye". I hope he's okay...

And yup, quality over all else !

Oh, and Grizzlez: first, hello (longtime no see :thumbsupsmiley: ) ! Second, it is not likely we'll get working on any campaign maps in the near future (bug fixes and balancing are the first objectives), but thanks for the offering.
