It's a nice start - I've seen a lot of much worse attempts for a first map. Nice to see you're looking at tutorials too *points at taskbar* Reminds me I really need to do some proper tuts at some point :wink_new:

Tips:

More textures - just more! Also, cliffs should have cliff textures. Having some path textures is also nice.

More creeps and neutral stuff - the middle of the map is a bit empty atm

Props - rocks and shrubs, even ruins, may be nice.

With the river tool - make a square, then drag one of the sides and it will add a section. keep doing this.

NB - I haven't used WB2 much so don't have much experience with this tool (WB1 has a different river too, which is harder to use but easier to customize).

I think with wb2 you just make two points and then drag the line for the river...I'm not sure though.

Btw, that's awesome for a first map!

to make a ford, simple raise the ground where you want the river to be crossable, then add details and textures to make it look like one

general tips:

- more textures, smoother transitions (for example, put a texture of little rocks between a cliff and some grass)
- add some rocks and plants to the river bank
- add some hidden paths between players, otherwise the player who controls the center controls everyone

For a ford, the water has to be no higher than 5 (I think it's 5 anyway) feet from the ground under it. Anything else is impassable. Alternativly, you could just paint the rest of the river impassable, but that wouldnt look as good.

Edit: Oops, didn't notice 2play already told you :p

I think it's a great start, beats my first attempt by a whole furlong :cool2: one suggestion alter the cliff textures as some appear to be out of place
