So here's another issue that I'm wondering if you guys have ever figured out. I'm trying to now import a Generals Model into 3DStudio Max and then export it into a W3X format. I've done this sucsessfuly but I noticed that any animations that were in the W3D are not being exported. I personally think that maybe they're not even being imported into Max to begin with. have any of you guys tried this yet or know of a way to import the animations from a W3D model? If so this would save me a lot of time on some work (as I'm working on converting my old Generals mod to CnC3).

I heard a rumor somewhere that supposedly someone had a .w3d importer that supported animations. Otherwise, no, the animations aren't being imported.

Dibelius merged importer of Seagle´s W3D importer and Coolfile´s animation importer should be what you are looking for. Place it in \Scripts\Startup\, then just load it in 3DS. It has a small help section directly integrated into the UI.
Also, make sure to correctly export the animations to W3X. The process varies depending on whether you have a single animation, multiple animations or skeletons.

No, I just posted and gave basic instructions on how to use a file which I haven´t used in a thousand years, especially not to port the work of 5 years with Gmax to 3DS... geez, you should know that you can spare yourself those smart-ass comments.
It definitely works with Autodesk 3DStudio Max Version 9.0 .
