Ghyver was a soldier in the UNSC for 10 years until he was "KIA". Pressumed dead and left behind enemy lines by his squadron he blagged his way into becoming an assassin for the covenant.

The covenant engineers tended to his wounds and replaced his missing limbs and organs with forerunner scavenged technology making him more powerful and efficient than a regular human. He was stationed on a covenant controlled construction planet and told to kill any UNSC forces that came anywhere near his facility.

His life was relatively quiet and cushy until Aer's force arrived. The covenant, accusing him of traitoring their position turned on him.

Ghyver escaping just with his life and without his fabled sniper rifle he meets the sangheilli and Unggoy in the core room. Things were about to get ugly.

I'm saying it's unlikely that the covanant would pay a human to do anything

point taken, they did rebuild him though with their own technology though. That would have had an impact.

Maybe if no Brutes, Grunts, Jackals or Elites were commanding the Engineers. Which is highly unlikely, especially with the Hungarok being considered quite valuable. Grunts would be too scared of him to let him live, brutes too arrogant to have you for anything other than eating, jackals too self-centered to consider him more than a snack, and elites would probably just kill him off and parade around with his intestines. And let's not even talk about Drones. :p

On the case of Covenants buying his loyalty... How the heck would they? It's not like they use any currency he'd find valuable. Not to speak of that it'd be hard for him to remingle into humanity even if they had something to pay him with.

You might want to redo a lot of the character, balancing out the "That would be cool"s with "That would be possible"'s. :p

Right... let me clear a few things up.

1. There is prophet in the facility we are attacking. He would be the most probable one to hire Ghyver. Ghyver's payment is that they rebuilt him.
2. If you know any thing about Halo you'll know that the covenant scavenged forerunner technology from the Halos and ruins left behind. That is what all their weapons and armor are based on.

You may be right I dont follow the Halo books that closely, but I'm sure Hust will know. Anyways Copaman thinks ur intro is cool so its in whether it's plausable or not.
