So, whats Command & Conquer Origins?

C&C Origins is a Total Conversion for Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge. It takes the player way back to the start of Red Alert, and ends just before the events of Tiberian Dawn.

The ultimate goal of the mod is to establish the link between RA and TD. The player will take on the role of a Soviet Commander under the direction of Kane himself. Kane is a recurring character in Red Alert but his role is not clearly understood until the events of Tiberian Dawn 60 years later.


The aim of the mod is to answer questions such as;

What was Kane up to when he was advising Stalin during Red Alert?

What happened in the events between RA and TD?

When did the Brotherhood of Nod become a world super power?

When was Tiberium really discovered? And who found it?


If all goes well, the link between RA and TD will be firmly established in a storyline designed to lead the player through 60 years of Command & Conquer history. In the opening segment of the mod. The player will assume the role of a Soviet Commander, fighting in the great war between the Allies and the Soviets. As the campaign progress's. The player will take the role of a Brotherhood of Nod zealot, determined to follow Kane's will and prepare Nod for the events of TD.


Yeah ok, that sounds reasonable, but what else will it bring to us that hasn't been done before?

Some of the features planned for the Mod include...

A full range of units, spanning from the ones found in Red Alert, to the early versions of the ones found in Tiberian Dawn, even including some never before seen units to fill in the gap.

A gripping storyline, to fill the 60 years of time between RA and TD.

All new rules coding to provide a tactically challenging game. No longer can the Soviets tank rush the enemy to win, they'll get chewed apart by Allied AT infantry. A good commander will have to make use of EVERY unit to gain victory.

A revised AI to allow for intense but tactically realistic battles. The AI won't provide a challange by hammering you with waves of Tanks, instead it will operate like a human player. Wearing away your harvesting capabilites, strategically destroying key structures and using it's factions advantages against you.

A whole new Terrain pack to represent the battlefields of Europe.

Battle For Europe, skirmish mode. This new feature is a key point of the battles in C&C Origins. To win, the player will have to capture Villages and Cities throughout the map and hold them for a period of time. Whilst the enemy tries to destroy them or capture them themselves. Or you can bypass the villages altogether and simply wipe the enemy of the map. It should make for exciting and strategically themed games.

And much more which will become apparent as more progress is made...


Sounds like an handfull, you'll never finish it!

I've assessed the workload required. With the amount of work im currently putting in, plus the help of some of the Community's experienced modders. The first public release won't be too long away. However, for the mod to reach it's full capacity, with the new campaign especially, then a wait is to be expected!


Pfft! RA1 and TD conversions have been done before! I'm not interested!

As mentioned earlier, C&C Origins is much more than a RA1-RA2 port! It's a completely new game, to fill in the gaps left by the Westwood/EA games!


Ok! I'm convinced! I have one more question! Can i be a part of it?

I don't want to give away all the details, that will be for the player to find out in the Campaign... :p
