I don't think they are necessary. Also, you'd probably have to change unit cost, add many more squadrons to bigger ships, make some research on other ships and their shuttle component. IMO, not worth an effort. They are not supposed to work as standard space fighting craft, so including them as such is rather poor idea...That was my thought as well. I could, however, include transports in with fighter complements if there was enough support for it. What does everyone think?

Then we could have cananical and unarmed craft without having to look at those ugly action IV's just appear out of nowhere

That just gave me an idea- could ground forces in a space battle attach themselves to capital ships, in the same manner as fleet commanders? Invasion fleets would be more realistic that way, and the player would have a little extra incentive for keeping the big ships out of harm's way.

I like that idea- it was mostly the landing model that bothered me. If EaW could be completely canon, the transports would stay in the capital ships until the skies were cleared anyway. You could include them in the tech tree as unarmed at level 1, then give them their armaments with subsequent upgrades; just give ground companies level 1 shuttles.

I donĀ“t know, but there could be a little trouble. Because if code add all of your invasion units into only one ISD, and enemy will destroy that ship, you will be in deep hole full of disguisting things.

Workaround would be possible (heroes/commanders code), but there's another problem - all of them attach to the same ship :/ You destroy one ship - you destroy entire army.
