That was my thought as well. I could, however, include transports in with fighter complements if there was enough support for it. What does everyone think?

I don't think they are necessary. Also, you'd probably have to change unit cost, add many more squadrons to bigger ships, make some research on other ships and their shuttle component. IMO, not worth an effort. They are not supposed to work as standard space fighting craft, so including them as such is rather poor idea...

This might be a little extreme but to touch on shuttles.. Give ground units no hyperdrive, so you are forced to use something to ferry them around with.. (Namely transports, but hey.. Star Destroyers had plenty of room for a ground compliment, I'm sure.)

That's not a bad idea. I may do that, depending on how unit transports change with Land.

What about raiding? You can't use transports for that :( And, as always, will AI be able to handle the situation?

What about raiding?

It would require a hero in that case, which would make it somewhat more exclusive to do... not a bad thing if you don't like raids. I haven't done anything yet though, and probably won't until dealing with ground units.

Why not just use the normal Imperial landing craft but without their guns
Then we could have cananical and unarmed craft without having to look at those ugly action IV's just appear out of nowhere
My friends always tell me I have the heart of a teady bear, and the mind of a serial killer.

"Why are you there damn you?! You don't do anything! You won't help me! You won't even hold me! You're no one! No one! NO ONE!
WHY WON'T YOU LOOK AT ME?!." - Asuka Langley Soryu

I like that idea- it was mostly the landing model that bothered me. If EaW could be completely canon, the transports would stay in the capital ships until the skies were cleared anyway. You could include them in the tech tree as unarmed at level 1, then give them their armaments with subsequent upgrades; just give ground companies level 1 shuttles.

That just gave me an idea- could ground forces in a space battle attach themselves to capital ships, in the same manner as fleet commanders? Invasion fleets would be more realistic that way, and the player would have a little extra incentive for keeping the big ships out of harm's way.

Don't think, Fingan, you aren't properly equipped for it.

I donĀ“t know, but there could be a little trouble. Because if code add all of your invasion units into only one ISD, and enemy will destroy that ship, you will be in deep hole full of disguisting things.

We can't really do landing forces, and I wouldn't support it, but we could upgrade the ships. I would make transport improvements tied into ground troop imporvements.

Workaround would be possible (heroes/commanders code), but there's another problem - all of them attach to the same ship :/ You destroy one ship - you destroy entire army. Ouch

How do you get the original landing craft to land? Where in the XML's is it so that I can change it back to the original shuttles that landed because, its nice to see ships come down from space and land rather than just appear. Can someone post the location of the script and what the original script looks like?
