Congrat on contra 006 ...now the focus point WTF ;) GLA are crap in this version and my worst fear is confirmed GLA is really becoming punchbag for other general and talk about balance between general what happen then? it seem China especially nuke and flame are bane of every single general with their ridiculous overpowered and usa are at least can counter China but not GLA... I'm speechless . ;) :)

Explain why i dont find GLA to be a problem, build black markets...

In pvp fights i've seen poisons demolish flame weapons in one strike. CROP DUSTERS. Those things are annoying and are hard to kill a lot of them. He has perfect anti infantry, strum-s tanks can serve anti tank, he has an invulnerable (exageration) super tank (love that thing), his defiler is useful for taking out buildings. Every game I played or seen someone play against explosives I or they lost. His suicide units and cash bounty he starts with just demolish everyithing, with quad cannons as anti infantry. A bug for him is if he builds planes, he can have them guard, and then build more at the same airfield. Once he gets his nuke truck and defence he's near unstopable. Stealth is easier to beat, unless your opponent knows how to use him well, and assault forces just has powerful tanks, especialy his cruiser. Don't tell me GLA suck!!!

Alot of people feel that GLA (especially the money-collecting) is a problem in Contra...
I don't think the "zumg wtf nub l2play!!1! bbq" attitude actually helps them

The GLA collect slower in CONTRA then normal Zero hour, and much slower than USA and china do in CONTRA.

you know, i never realy noticed that, but ofcource GLA don't have expensive builders, a need for powerplants or expesive starting units, so that ballances eachother out a bit. eventually you'll need to spend a good 10 to 20K$ more on normal dozers and powerplants for an USA or china general

I think its the new animation that workers have when dropping of resources at a truck that slows the whole thing down.
Not only do they have to go through an animation, but now they also have to go to the back of the truck. :xcahik_:

Resource drop-off point reduce the area which the supply can be dropped from around the truck to just at the small end of the truck. And that has become a very big problem for GLA. Their economic is busted.


That pretty much sums it up, but i must say that the animation is pretty sweet anyway...

poison general is quite strong but compare to nuke_gen/supw_gen ai....i can't say any GLA can stand it. when i say this i mean from an ai stand point cus i love ai killing each other. also GLA gen ai don't build any airfield tooo...

GLA ai is soo weak...

Would it make a lot of difference if we left the animations ect as is, but highered the box value from $75 to $150 or $200 per worker to even it out again?

Hmm... i tested to play as GLA and i have no probs with money at all. i had lotsa money and i built lotsa unit that i don't even have to think of any attack strategies; just send all of them into the enemy's base. THEY WILL LOSE. AI weak defense against overpowered units - no chance

I can't really imagine gla winning against nuke or SWG much, but think about it. No tech vs uber tech. It's like two ppl fighting, one has a stick, one has an equal length sword. The guy with the sword will win, unless the guy with the stick is smart enough and the guy with the sword dumb enough. If the guy with the stick can notch his stick, he can catch the sword, throw it away, and beat the crap out of the defenceless guy. I don't know how that translates into a gla strategy, other than trap the guys units, remove them, and attack.

Not totally sure what GLA general you are using but I mostly play with the stealth general. Just build more stealthed infantry/vehicles and learn to pinch/flank them when they are focusing on your defense network. I wouldn't reconmend using the GLA for slugging matches against Chinese tanks either; it is not what the GLA was built for.

I don't really think GLA is screwed up...OK, their economy isn't good compared to other factions in the start.(Cool animation anyway *click,click,click*)If you want a good economy, build like 6 black markets and protect them...It's not that hard.Ah, and use dual supply trucks.It's stıll not the best but will compensate a bit...(2600 oh well :blush: )
They have real good units...REALLY good, you just have to try them all.

The GLA may be weaker that the other two factions, but thats OK. The GLA's sneaky, guerilla-style tactics are perfect for stopping a frontal assault, making a comback when your down, or generally pissing off the other player. If you want large, frontal assaults, play as China. The GLA is perfect screwing up those large assaults...

Anyway, the toxin gen is pretty powerful, but I agree that GLA workers need to gather supplies faster.

The Assault general supposedley specializes in the GLA's weakness: frontal assaults. That is not a good idea. the assault gen seems like a random faction quickly made just so the GLA had 4 generals, the Assault general should either be drastically reworked or changed into somthing like a "rebel" or "terrorism" general, who specializes in propaganda and hijacking/converting other units.
