*Split from "2/more mods @ 1 time?" topic* /Naz

I read another post about setting up an installer, I have a wizard to create installers and you can add custom code, would anyone know how to code for an installer and add these windows commands to the install process?

By Windows Commands, do you mean putting in the Target and Start In paths for the desktop shortcut?

Wouldn't be hard to make an installer do that, just not sure of whether you can make it optional

And on a side note, I have like 20 million mods installed ;)

yea, so we can have an installer that would pass as a professional installer and actually work out where things are installed and create the necessary shortcuts.

although i hope im not setting the bar to high.

I posted a link to a hosted, compressed file that has a desktop shortcut in it, it has the path and target written in it for putting bfme2 in the default location and the see mod in the root of c.
you can use that. then if someone installs the game and mod in those exact locations, they dont have to do anything but extract the desktop shortcut to the desktop and I think rename it with the LNK extension..

Yeah np... I just wanted to point that out. I haven't tried that one yet, but it sounds like it's good. And for 4.7 we must have an installer as I'm sure we're all pretty fed up with hearing the same questions 1000 times

Could someone take the time and test the Installer from the other thread? ;)

well, that you can make maps and characters consistent with the Mod is quite good, I guess. I would have to see wha it looks like so I woud keep with the flow but then again, I dont have the experience with modeling you guys do

For a desktop shortcut icon, if one is made specifically for this mod, it ought not to be anything other than Nazgul's (Chris') avatar...

I discovered this program WE MUST swear by its a high compression application and it can turn 640MB into about 1.4mb. Sounds too good to be true?
Well it isn't, it works!

Are their any draw backs you ask?
Well.... yes, The process of compiling and De-compiling require a large amount of CPU to process it and requires a few good hours to De-compile, and when I say hours I mean as in days, It all depends on the power your CPU can deliver.

I highly recommend donating, No, I insist you donate to these guys as they put allot of effort to bringing you a free high compression application

you can get a stable copy of the application here
