Hey everybody - for those of you who don't know me I'm Dr.Kirk (well, you can tell that for yourself by looking at my username...) and I'm part of the team for the SEE mod for BFME II.

Since the day I first layed eyes on BFME (and then subsequently on BFME II which I bought a year later) I have been making plans for a mod that I think could turn out to be one of the most awesome ever established for BFME II. I decided that I didn't want to go ahead and make it without some degree of experience in the BFME modding field, however, so I took up coding and decided to join in with another mod - SEE - to gain insight on the runnings of the game and the functions of the different lines of code and scripting that the game itself contains. I also didn't want to go ahead and post some massive 'I'M DOING A NEW MOD AND I WANT CODERS, MODDERS, ETC ETC ETC ETC' post to start this whole thing off either as I thought that wasn't really going to get me anywhere and that a degree of civilised introduction to other members of this forum was due before any sort of planning could begin.

So, moving swiftly on to the mod itself: I propose (not so simply) this: to convert the BFME II into a game that allows players to control different races from the TV show Dr.Who (ah GOD I love that show - watched it since I was yae high...) - including the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Autons etc across different places in the show, whether it be from the underground city on planet Skaro to Big Ben in London City. The game is based mostly around Skirmish battling (though a campaign battle COULD be designed if everyone wants one, but that takes a hell of a lot of work and the skirmishes are going to be hard enough as it is) and does not include CaH. WotR may be included, but it will be converted into a version of the Time War if possible at a later date.

I have a ton of ideas for this mod but I will not even begin to list them on this topic until everyone has given me feedback on their views and opinions on the whole thing and maybe even decided to go ahead and sign up for modding positions.

I call this mod the BFME II: DOCTOR WHO mod, simply because that's the name of the TV show and I haven't got enough imagination to think up a better name! :crazed:
However if there are any fans of the show who want to suggest ideas for a different mod name, don't hesitate to tell me because everyone's ideas count. :p

-thanks everyone
Dr.Kirk

I don't think this mod's going to work out somehow. Too much work involved, you'd have to make completely new models from scratch, and anims, and I'm not sure anyone actually wants to be involved with that...

Why don't you make a mod to turn BFME II into the Simillarion? I like the Simillarion. :p

T3A is dead and this mod won't succeed or properly start off because of it.

I'm sorry.

That's news to me... :p Yes, BFME is not as popular as it was several years ago but there still is quite a lot of mods in production. And there was never really a whole lot of modders for BFME anyways. :crazed:

Indeed.

I say you scrap the dumbass idea you've gone and pulled out yours, do some SEE modding like you're assigned to do instead of starting something entirely new and consider my option of modding BFME II into the Simillarion. That way, at least I'll be more inclined to help you out.
I might be the only one though, so be prepared for that... ;)

And I say take a hike.

I'm not particularily of the mind to scrap my idea just because people have no faith in what little is left of the BFME modding community - yeah, sure, it's weakened from it's original state but it's still present and people who consider themselves part of the dark ages should move onto something else. I, personally, am all for modding BFME II, because there will always be some other people besides me who are prepared and devoted enough to do it. People still work on Doom, for instance, and that's like the ultimate classic game that you can find.

However I will take the advice I've been given and go against my better judgement and accept your offer to make the game into a mod based on the Simillarion, if you think you and I can pull it off...

All the above was aimed at IAL, btw, no offence to anyone else!

With regards to Matias... T3A is dead? Since when? ;) I really AM behind on news here! ;)

lol I seem to be the only person REPLYING to this...

So, do you want to start the Similarion mod or continue helping Naz on SEE? Your choice, I'm happy with either it's just that one takes more work... (making a whole new mod, obviously...)
I decided to make a random idea for a BFME II mod that can't be done so I'm gonna do one for Doom - play as either the forces of Hell or Earth!

Nah, that sucks.
Anyway, your call now Kirk.

Well, I beat you to it already. I've designed something new that could be a great asset to Naz and the SEE mod and I'll be sending it to him tommorow.
However if you come onto MSN I'll discuss what I've done, what you can add and maybe put your name on it.

How did your title screen for SEE go, btw? Was it accepted?

I say we just scrap the whole idea for a new mod, accept the community as near-dead and continue helping to make SEE the ultimate BFME II mod in history. Agreed?

If T3A is dead than all of Revora is dead. Because T3A alone has more forum posts than the entire CNC Guild, which was what the place was based on to start with. Matias, such a pessimist...

Doesn't look that dead to me...

Precisely.

I don't see how T3A could possibly be dead myself or else nobody would be modding on here still... :p
So, do you think Naz will accept the suggestions? I better have my name on that you know, I contributed to it in a way that was as much as you and maybe more... ;)

Anyway, yeah, Similarion's dead then. I suppose it just had to be... though I do know that Naz is planning Morgoth in SEE at some point, and if he accepts our suggestions then he'll be one hell of a summon...
As to my intro video credits thing, Naz hasn't replied about it... I expect that he doesn't like it, but I don't exactly see how... my competitor must have put a HELL load of work into his version to beat mine, I spent ages on it. :p
And you don't even know what it MEANS to be up all night trying every different track in the Lord of the Rings to see which one fits... ;)
