Because they are not in the game yet. The wallpapers you saw were screenshots taken from the beta game only the beta team members can use. That beta will be coming out soon

Nazgúl took away the spider-riders and replaced them with the warg riders, the silly man. He should have used both, using the warg riders as light cavalry and the Spider-riders as the élite, both being recruitable from different buildings along with the creatures on their own.

Actually the warg riders are not even buildable in the beta version yet. Rob's coded em in, we just need to decide where to add them. Part of the problem is picking a suitable building for them, as it seems odd that they would come from the spiders nest.

Beast Pit sounds good, it could train Spiderlings, Warg Riders, and maybe even Wargs (like all other evil factions ;)).

If they have archery ability, then there should not be (wild) Wargs.

I see where the thinking for a Beast Pit comes from, but Spiders/Spiderlings and Wargs need totally different things needed to train and keep them. To use a "Generic Beast Pit" kinda seems lazy IMHO...

Maybe silly in your eyes, but please tell me where in the movies (or books) that we see Goblins on Spiders? I just hate them all together. We did however keep them as Creep units in SEE =p

Why on earth would a giant (and probably hungry ) spider let a Goblin ride it? It is completely against the lore and the movies! Warg Riders on the other hand are in the books, therefore you should drop EA's hideous creation :p

My view is the same on this one.

What I would do with Goblins is the following:

General
- Remove Baby Drakes as Hero Horde. They could be added to the fire drake lair, making it even more deadly, which it should be, its a dragons nest after all. Be afraid...

Spiders Nest

- Remove spider riders.
- Replace spider riders with a horde of 3 giant spiders. These replace the baby drakes as the hero horde, doing large area trample and having a poison sting ability, and perhaps a hero cripple at a higher level.
- Move Shelob from the Fortress to the spider nest as a hero, in the same way Grond is a mordor hero, but is built from the seige works.

Lair *New*
- Add a new building called lair.
- Angmar wolves can be built here as anti-hero units, same function as they have for angmar.
- Goblin warg/wolf riders can be built here at a higher level.

Fissure
- Half trolls need a rethink. I like the general concept, but the model needs to fit with Lord of the Rings, as appose to Warhammer...
- I suggest they are made something more like the cave trolls, but smaller (e.g. Concept)
They fight with fists to start with, using troll anims, but can be upgraded with swords or pikes. There are only 3 in a horde, but can be combined.

Those are great ideas, but that would give the Goblins too many cavalry units. What if the Giant Spiders were called Brood Mothers, and made into a Hero Horde?

Yep, those ideas are really nice. However I was thinking in changing the half trolls into something more related to the lore, but can't think of anything myself
'Tall ships and tall kings

What brought they from the foundered land
over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
and one white tree.'

Half trolls belong with harad.

And this discussion doesn't belong here :xd:

But yeah, move half troll spearmen to harad and just keep swords with the gobbos, rename to bolg's bodyguard :p

I can't say I'd be that keen to see half trolls in harad I know they're mentioned in lore but they don't fit the feel of the faction imo. Do we think goblins should get an elite pike unit? or should they just go?
