I'm sorry, did you really just say that? So bending the definition of a word so you can try to pass off that you're not racist isn't nitpicking because you can't think of a valid arguement? That's rich...

Racism

Racism

Race

"Racism, by its simplest definition, is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. People with racist beliefs might hate certain groups of people according to their racial groups. In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment. Racial discrimination typically points out taxonomic differences between different groups of people, even though anybody can be racialised, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination."

Whatever liberals and commies use racism for does not make it such. Much like they skew the words Fascist, Corporatism, Capitalism, and just fuck with the semantics of all words and terms and make it confusing for all.

I smell hypocrisy!

Alright, fair enough, Kacen, you're not technically a racist. But you're still a prejudiced bastard, however you try and refute that.

Just because you are prejudiced does not mean you do not have a good reason.

To a greater or lesser extent, we are all prejudiced.

How exactly is it prejudiced to ask that a nation's own culture, laws and practices are respected by all those who enter that country, no matter their reason? Why exactly should sharia law be respected by this nation's legal system? Why should muslims be given different treatment than everyone else? I don't get any special benefits for being atheist, nor do Christians get any for being Christian. Let's look at this another way. How the fuck is it fair that banks offer Islamic accounts that charge no interest on loans? I don't care that it's their culture - it's not ours. If they want their culture acknowledged and followed, why don't they go somewhere where that is the culture and the way? Half of me wants to register as a muslim just for the benefit.

I daresay if a cohort of British or American Christians/Atheists emerged in Saudi Arabia and demanded the opening of a Christian/Non-religious court that followed the laws of their homeland, they would probably be stoned to death, or at least their petition would be laughed at until the laugher puked.

Why should we create courts based on religion? The move is to separate religion and state, however both America and Britain are going backward in that regard - America willingly, Britain governmentally willingly, but publically not so.

I don't believe in treating any race, creed or othersuch denomination or label as second-class citizens. I believe even less in it when it is the local citizenry who are being negatively prejudiced. Because we are, because we don't get the same benefits that the outsiders do.

Does that make me prejudiced? Well, sorry, because I don't think I, as a white Anglo-Saxo-Norse Atheist, I feel maltreated and discriminated by my own government because I don't get any special perks for being what I am, yet other groups, mostly those who have immigrated much more recently than my own stock, are being given far better treatment.

If I moved to America, or Canada, or Saudi or anywhere else, I would be expected to adhere to their laws, customs, cultures etc. I would also not receive more benefits than a citizen of that country. Why should I? That's what I object to here, and why I'm so offended.

Well, I agree with you on all of that. I was really just arguing with Kacen for the sake of arguing. This institution of sharia law courts is just another form of 'positive discrimination', which is a paradox if ever there was one. It is unfair, unjust, and above all unwise. Sooner or later the British people will do something about it. At least, I hope we will.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

It pisses me off when i hear about how people of other races/religions(and its usually muslims when you hear about it) come to our countries and expect to get special treatment or dont follow rules/laws because its 'against their religion', especially when if i went to their country i would be forced to follow their rules, so why should they not be forced to follow ours? its not like our ones are unjust or anything, so they can either accept our laws or go back to their own country if they want to follow those rules.

Thats how i see it, and im sure anyone in their right mind would agree with me...

Why not? We just come back to the conclusion that if God exists, he's one sick bastard. Pretty fun trying to guess which topics conclude with that :)
