Since talk(and progress, unfortunately) of the mod is pretty stiff lately here is some off topic to sate my curiousity.

Who else is looking forward to Lord of the Rings Conquest?

Well, my brother does I guess, although I haven't heard too much good of the game (at least the hungarian beta testers found the program buggy and somewhat lame, and the graphic isn't the best either).

I probably won't play with it as hack'n'slash isn't my type of game, but if it will bring some common fun* hours for our little family then it's worth it :D

*my bro plays, I jitter, and we yell "Hurray !" on the end together :D

"Well, I can't argue with that - modding IS hard. But what would have become of games like Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Dungeon Siege, Half-Life 1-2, Neverwinter Nights and BfME 1-2 if we, modders, weren't there ? They would have long been forgotten. Modding is hard, but it's an honorable thing." - MorrisB

Well I liked the Battlefront series and lord of the rings, Bioware is a competent company and after seeing different movies and such on it it's the only game I'm really looking forward to. When I moved I ended up between two ebgames stores, and now that I can afford games I can't wait for its release.

I haven't heard anythign about a beta but apaprently it's pretty much all finished now and they're throwing in the finishing touches, since it releases November. I was worried because EA is publishing it but thought perhaps Bioware had enough good sense to not talk to them until the game was already mostly done.

It's weird because I was thinking of how cool a 3d first person battle for middle earth would be and considered trying to make it on Q3 engine, then they announced this.

I'm looking forward to it, can't wait for it and like you said Kyross I had also been thinking about a Battlefront style lord of the rings- I just hope it is as good as it seems, however I am not sure of why they included the mage class in the game though

They included it cos' many people like to play as magic-users, so this way they can charm a few more players. Money talks, dog barks, you know the rules.

By the way, in the "Unfinished Tales" it is mentioned that Saruman, Gandalf, Radagast, Alatar and Pallando weren't the only wizards who came to Middle-Earth, but they were the top leaders. I guess the lesser wizards didn't do much apart from watching over the Free Peoples and/or eventually settling in Middle-Earth (like Radagast did), though.

The Unfinished Tales, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Children of Hurin, The Sillimarion and The Hobbit.
Those are the books which I haven't read yet, but I want to. Really want to read them. :shiftee:

Where is everybody by the way?

children of hurin is rather worthless if you can get your hands on the history of middle earth series, about 14 books detailing the contents of professor tolkiens notebooks, unfinnished tales is undoubtly the most fascinating book ive ever read, and silmarillian one of the most boring
If your reading this i probably am drunk in a ditch somewhere near you

Silmarilion is far from the most boring, it's extremely interesting, and the Children of Hurin is not that bad

I'm at another province now. I've just bought "The Children" of Hurin". It was the only book that I could find.
So much confusing. :p I go like "What? Who's Hurin?" And then I go like "who the hell is Thingol?" and that name and that name and that name.
"Whoa! Turin? I thought I read it Hurin, No! it's another character."

After my stupidity had gone, I remembered that I saw a tree family at the back. Fortunately there's really a tree family at the back, so I can enjoy reading it. Finally, I read it "oh! yeah, yeah, yeah Turin son of Hurin ,grandchild of Aunty Joe blah...blah...blah" :good:
