You already heard about the Worldbuilder update in the quick post I made earlier in the week.
Battlecast Primetime will return today at some point with an episode on location from the Leipzig Games Convention.
Lastly, the community has been overloaded with EA sponsored contests recently. Now, CNC3.net isn't one of the contest sites, but there are a large amount around that are. The prizes are all the same in each contest, mostly C&C t-shirts and coffee mugs. But, you can also win a photograph of Kane signed by Joe Kucan... shock and awe indeed......
Anyway, the sites where you can enter all have different competition rules. Here's a list of all the sites and their criteria:
- Project Perfect Mod, one of our sister hostees on Revora's server, is holding a voxel competition. Now, for those of you who have never modded the older C&C games or came from the Guild, a voxel is a semi-3D model which portrays the ingame vehicles in both Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. Design a KW or C&C3-themed voxel to have a chance to enter.
- CNCNZ - here, you have to register for their forums, and answer a few questions on the cast members of C&C3. There are more than Joe Kucan, remember.
- CnC Files - the contest here is to come up with the most fanciful excuse as to why you do not have C&C3 yet, or why you need to buy another copy. Creativity, humour, uniqueness, and even a touch of crazy, all factor in to your chances of winning here.
- GameReplays - surprisingly, from a site full of multiplayer maniacs, the contest here is oddly literate. Here, you need to compose a short C&C poem, based around their acrostics guidelines.
- C&C Labs - here, you don't have to answer some trivia questions, you have to make them. C&C Labs' contest involves designing the best C&C trivia question possible. You don't have to answer your own question, just ask.
- C&C Russia (Py) - here, if you can understand Russian, there are several ways to win the contest. The most prominent being your most creative story about how you came into the wonderful world of C&C, as well as a "Photoshop Tanya" contest. Hmm... methinks that last one may not be safe for work ...
- CnC Saga - the contest here is to design an ingame unit version of the Soviet Professor Zelinsky from Red Alert 3. This includes weapons and abilities.
- CnC Inside (De) - here, the German community want you to tell them what your favourite C&C unit is and why.
- Planet CnC - HeXetic is asking you to photoshop a world monument with Nod's image. Basically, take a well known world sight, and Nodify it. A video briefing can be found here.
- CNC Den - Finally, CNC Den. This one just involves sending an email to Lion. Simple.
Well, that's kind of all I have time to cover. Modding news will return as normal next week. Until then, start competing to win the... joyous... prizes on offer with the community's competitions.
Nighthawk.
