I think (not sure if it was ever implemented into the mod) there was gonna be a demo dog for one branch of the FL but I think that was just an idea

Ash, do ALL of your posts have to contain a link to tvtropes.org? its getting to be spammy...

I know in that last post it was on purpose, but your linking to that website all the time is getting old.

Do you use the Cyborg tag on NEXUS infantry? Would be pretty interesting to have an entire army that gets a second chance on death. :p

You do know that causes the magical missing leg recovery when Transports involved? :p

i guess if wanted could fake it to walk as usual but slower since it is actually crawling or make actual crawl frames kick in... but Nexus gets TOO good at that rate if all of them did that

If you had thought about it, you'd realise it is in his signature not in his post you know... (which of course means all posts if you not get it) not to mention, your post is so off-topic and Ash will now keep the signature link just to annoy you more, good job! :thumbsupsmiley:

Yeah. I discouraged Apollo from it. :thumbsupsmiley: It's not like the FL don't have enough suicide units anyway

I don't link to it every post I make, if you don't count my signature.

Just for you, here's an FYI: Tropes are not bad. You don't have to click the links. Think of it as a disadvantage to me because it takes me way longer to type my posts out. I was never going to get rid of the sig anyway, but as Apollo said, congratulations! From here on in, I will do my utmost to include at least one trope and link to it in any post I make in response to yours.

Nice job breaking it, hero.. :p

Try again Apollo. Where does he even have a link to tvtrobes in his signature? No, i was referring to the number of his posts as of late that have contained a/multiple link(s) to that website:

Even for a mod about both an omnicidal and a batshit-insane AI, super-elitist xenophobic high-tech hardcore soldiers, a group of crazy-ass suicidally explosive zealots, cyborg melds, weather control, teleportation, genetic mutation, extreme or satellite bombardments, endless varieties of robot, cloaking devices, guns that shoot lightning, guns that shoot lasers, guns that shoot particle beams, guns that shoot slugs at near-light-speed, ginormous flying zeppelins of doom and other assorted flying death machines, humongous mecha, missiles flying everywhere destroying the shit out of an already pretty fucked up world and everyone in it, that idea is too crazy and OTT to fit in.

The downside of a freeform is, of course, that it needs loads and loads of characters and, by extension, quite a few players to play them all (or else you end up with three people playing thirty people, and that shit's ridiculous even if, like me, you relish the challenge of pulling it off! tongue.gif ).

Check out this link and this link.
I would like to open a discussion of exactly where you all think each side fits on these calculi.
I think the first link answers would be fairly obvious:

Irrespective of what fanboy island these folks get shipped off to, it'll probably be a great test bed for our nuclear weapons!

(the links don't carry over from the quote, but all of these had atleast one link to that site)

I don't link to it every post I make, if you don't count my signature.

No i do not count your signature, seen as till just now i didn't even see the signature link. And it was an exaggeration in reference to the increasing and numerous amount of posts you have been making that contain tvtrobes links.
Don't you worry your pretty little head, i have not clicked a single link you have posted. Not just your recent tvtrobes links, but any link ever, actually.

And you're free to do whatever you want, i don't actually care at all. I was just saying that it was getting to be spammy. It like when spam bots get in and make a post where every word is a link to a website for viagra or porn. I just decided to make mention of it here cause this was the latest case.

Well, so? he likes his tvtropes references instead of making up wall of text to explain same things himself which can be just read there for what was and has been trends and defined already.

I would do the same if i wasn't lazy to look up the links to use and use 'em to shorten any explanations.

Besides like Ash said, you don't have to click the links, it is for those who want more deeper definitions explanations.

In no way is it spam as it is relevant in being culturally aware of the references and if ask me it is fascinating insight on various things that have existed.

What Ash is doing is pretty much analyzing how mod fits those definitions, for example that calculi thing.

FYI, this forum isnt very active for obvious reasons so even some spam is tolerated so leave the judging to us ok.

Try again Apollo. Where does he even have a link to tvtrobes in his signature? No, i was referring to the number of his posts as of late that have contained a/multiple link(s) to that website:

So? What's the problem. Tell me where the links were in any way wrong or irrelevant.

This one was posted, as you rightly stated the obvious earlier, to show just how troperrific RS was. It was played for laughs.

The downside of a freeform is, of course, that it needs loads and loads of characters and, by extension, quite a few players to play them all (or else you end up with three people playing thirty people, and that shit's ridiculous even if, like me, you relish the challenge of pulling it off! tongue.gif ).

Tell me how it was even not relevant here. It made sense to post that link, because, well, you do end up with loads and loads of characters. (See? Because I love you oh-so-vewy-vewy much, no link that time.

Check out this link and this link.
I would like to open a discussion of exactly where you all think each side fits on these calculi.
I think the first link answers would be fairly obvious:

The links there were the entire fucking point of the post, because I wanted to discuss the calculi and how they fit...

Irrespective of what fanboy island these folks get shipped off to, it'll probably be a great test bed for our nuclear weapons!

Oh now we're getting ridiculous. That was a discussion about fucking twilight, the greatest example of shipping on teh internets. Of course I was going to mention shipping. But I had to post a link to actually explain what shipping was, because the word seems out of place in the sentence and context otherwise.

And you're free to do whatever you want, i don't actually care at all. I was just saying that it was getting to be spammy. It like when spam bots get in and make a post where every word is a link to a website for viagra or porn. I just decided to make mention of it here cause this was the latest case.

That is the worst comparison for anything I have ever heard. At least my links are relevant and vaguely informative. As are my posts (or at least, I try to make them such). I'm not advertising, I'm just playing for laughs or I'm, as Apollo said, trying to avoid having to waste my time.

Look, bottom line - I find it fun to go on TV Tropes. I find it fun to post links where I see them cropping up in my post, or in the thread's context. And there's no fucking law against it, so no, I'm not going to stop purely because I enjoy it. I enjoy finding the tropes and I enjoy linking to them. If people don't like, they can just, as said, not click the links. :D

Simples. *squeak*

No need to get all agitated, all i said was your linking is becoming spammy. So stop trying to put words in my mouth then get angry over them.

When did i ever say anything about them not being relevant? or any of the other stuff you are getting all up in arms over? infact i didn't even tell you to stop.

i mean only exactly what i said, which is that all those links are becoming spammy.

Like who really needs a link to tell them what 'loads of characters' means? If you are so dumb that you don't grasp such basic understanding (loads of characters, means there are loads of characters, lots of characters, a numerous amount of characters, who needs a link to explain what is an explaination itself) you need to go back to preschool. Or using your latest post, do you really think people are not smart enough to work out what 'troperrific' is suppose to mean, or even 'played for laughs', fairly obvious it means you did it to be funny. So many of them are just unnecessary, and thats why it feels spammy.

Well, if you haven't noticed, most of my posts across this forum are intentionally spam (there's a reason I have more posts than the next two most prolific posters combined). So yeah..

So, if you're going to accuse me of spam, you're stating the blatantly obvious. And to that I plead guilty as charged. :)
