I think you can change from the vanilla game to TEA mid-campaign, but not the other way around, because everything in the regular game is in TEA, but not everything in TEA is in the original game.
Don't quote me on that though, that's just my theory.

The campaign, in general, is much more fun on the major missions (Helm's Deep, Minas Tirith, Lothlorien) and ruffly the same when it comes to the plain generic missions (Rohan, Fangorn, Southern Ithilien.)What is the new campaign like? I need to find out before I download, lest I regret it...
For specific changes, check out the campaign section on TEA's website (note: The missions that are listed as "Info coming soon" are exactly the same as they were in the vanilla version other than changes that went towards armies (Hama joining Rohan)).
