like total annilation then sort of , that game was a pure classic

actually, no not like TA. The commander on TA is just a powerful unit that if it dies you lose. On WZ it allows you to move it around in first person view and a whole pile of other units can follow it attacking whatever it "paints"

On PS WZ you could move them around individually by driving them even without the Command Turret unit. Just turn Battle View off (PS Ver uses Triangle button for this function). But yeah it is a laser designator. I mostly used it as a delivery point for factories though...

I don't think SC had such massive involving campaigns as the ones on Warzone, or such brilliant development of your enemies, or your own technology.

On SC, I bet you have to build your base at the start of every mission? Not with WZ. You operate from a set base and work outwards with that.

well TA had the a awesome nuke which fried forests and cruisers but Warzone was more tatical, you send you units to missions, etc. Although the last level you need a new base as you old one got nuked...

I haven't played WZ in years, and would like to get it again someday.
[edit] went searching for it and found the demo:

You can't buy the game anymore, it just isn't stocked.

Here are some screenies:
