Stealth also makes Mirkwood worth it. As it stands now stealth is a worthless atribute. The biggest problem is people are afraid of asymmetry. It can be ballanced while being asymmetrical. The way the game works now it is more a logistical study. Tactics mean nothing. There are no surprises.

As far as changing it myself? I would love to, but I can't right now. But this is why I am taking programing. I don't know a single person who bought BFME because they thought it was going to be a battle of logistics. We bought b/c we thought it would offer epic battles for middle earth. This isn't Chess it isn't exactly equal nor is it meant to be.

So stop trying to make it chess :p

I have no problem with tweaking stealth, and almost all mirkwood units are going to have it. But no one here is afraid of asymmetry. The whole point of the mod is to bring it back to bfme1, where every faction was different, and doing the same thing that you do with gondor as mordor doesn't work.

No surprises? How much have you played online? I get surprised by things all the time...sneak attacks, ambushes, or just weird strategies that people are using.

And yes, people bought it for the battles in the lotr universe it offered. People did not buy it to be constantly worrying about whether the snow would make their units cold and give them a cough so they couldn't find quite as well.

And stealth is not useless! Your entire army can get owned by brand or bard or thranduil or whoever before you even notice he's there! You may see the arrows, but he's still
invisible', so you can't attack him.

And I want stealth tweaked. Just not made into a focal point of the game.

Damn, there's been a lot of posts since I last checked, and probably more while I'm posting :S

While I definitely agree that this is too much of a macro/logistics game and not enough of a micro/tactics game, I think people are going a bit overboard and are using the issue to push their agendas for realism when a few price alterations and eco tweaks would probably be enough to make units more worth it, as well as an improved stealth system like I said.

You can make as many asymmetrical maps as you'd like since I could care less as I'd still go back to FoI and maps that are balanced, but don't fuck up those maps in ur crusade for excessive changes just for the sake of change. If ALL maps favored certain factions, then people would only play on maps that favored their factions and games would become a matter of who has the right faction on a map and not who's actually the better player.

If all u really want in the end is underdog situations, then y not just use the handicap system instead of messing with the game?

Oh, and I can definitely testify that Bard owns after butchering Yoda's Angmar and Troll rush with almost just him.

... so... that's a no for the stealth from you Jo? Can't tell weather you're coplaining about us going overboard on details or realistic hungry games in general. Or both...
