OBAMA WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p :thumbsupsmiley:

One of the most historic events we have ever seen in the U.S. This is so emotional for me, it's just amazing to see an African American be President after so many years of discrimination and continuing discrimination. Even if you don't agree with Obama's policies, everyone should be proud of the accomplishments he and America has made in progressing to something that several years ago nobody would have ever predicted.

Vote totals

Obama--Approx 50,722,000 votes

McCain--Approx 46,913,000 votes

-----------------------------------------

Nader-- Approx 495,000 votes

Barr--Approx 395,000 votes

I'd hoped to get 500,000 for Barr, but he wasn't that great of a candidate. We'll see in 2012.

I couldn't care less for the guy's skin colour. The important is that the best candidate won. Period.

You'll be regretting those words soon enough.

Now we can get our money taken away, babies experimented on and, most important of all, we can all become Muslims like him!

Wait, what?

Well, I won a bit of money gambling on the swing states, so I'm happy. We should, however, remember that he is not actually President until January 20th, and Bush is still technically in power. Also that he's the first Democrat to receive more than 50% of the vote since Jimmy Carter, and everyone knows how terribly Jimmy Carter's tenure went. Let's just wait and see.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Update:

Obama--62,762,158 votes

McCain--55,607,013 votes

Nader--645,489 votes

Barr--482,369 votes

96% of precincts reporting. Doubt I'll get another 18,000 votes for Barr, but it's close enough.

This is historic in so many ways. Its historic for African Americans, its historic for the youth of America, and most importantly it his historic for its impact on the American political spectrum. The conservative absolute free-market principles have been proven infective and now the democrats control the senate, the congress, and the white house by wide margins. There were two massive political shifts in the USA, one which was started by Roosevelt, and the other that moved in the opposite direction with Reagan.

For the good of the US and the world, I sincerely hope this will be another fundamental shift headed by a man of impeccable temperament and intellect. Barack Obama.

The thing that I am impressed with in the victory is that 8 (2 more states that supported Bush to be called) states switched from supporting Bush to supporting Obama, while none went from Kerry to McCain. Linky

The election was not Democratic states + 1 red state to win, but America, together, choosing its president.

Meh. I suppose I'd consider it an accomplishment if he was an American-born and raised citizen, as well as actually being African American.

But that's just me.
