He is referring to the fact that Obama grew up in Indonesia for a chunk of his childhood. Only 4 years, but it did change him. And he is only half black, so he is mixed race, not fully African American.Excuse me? What was that all about?Meh. I suppose I'd consider it an accomplishment if he was an American-born and raised citizen, as well as actually being African American.
But that's just me.

It does not matter where someone was born to be any federal/state official, except the president. To be honest, I supported Obama, but I would not mind Arnold being president.I mean, everyone knows Arnie can't, despite being Governer of California.

With that said though, what do you think his chances would be, if he was eligable?......That's what he said, Arnold can't run for president because he wasn't born in the US.
Thought I'd have that here to save time.

Or perhaps it's you who's narrow-sighted. He's officially Hawaiian-born. Sure he has distant rellies over in Africa but he's American by birth.Aye. And seeing as (to my knowledge) it says Kenya on his birth certificate...yeah. Not too happy with this whole thing.
But we have the narrow-sightedness of the American people to thank.
Yyyyup.Last I checked, he was born in Hawaii. It's probably just Republicans (officials or followers) trying to tar him.
Why the hell would you want Arnold for pres?It does not matter where someone was born to be any federal/state official, except the president. To be honest, I supported Obama, but I would not mind Arnold being president.
Minuscule. He's not exactly the sharpest tool in the box now, is he?With that said though, what do you think his chances would be, if he was eligable?
Like what?Pretty good. After all he's done things besides making speaches...

You do understand it was the dot com explosion that fueled the Clinton prosperity. Unless you credit Gore for inventing the internet. If he gets America back into the profitable state is was in under Clinton, I'm sure you'll change your mind.
Reagan took Carters 22% interest rate (now 6-7%) and Carters 13% inflation (now peaked Jan 08 at 4.28%) and Carters 7% unemployment (now peaked at 5.7% as of Aug 08) and turned it into the Roaring '80s. Birth of the "yuppy puppy."
Presidents have some control over the economy but let's admit, no matter what the party, El Presidente can only do so much economically unless you change the fundamentals of the institutions that control the economy. Democrats may try to change the structure of the US economical system, which moves us away from a good working model.
AND you can't take the current financial situation and blame it on capitalism. These up and down cycles have been running up and down since the system was founded. They are natural cycles combined with specualtors and corporate corruption.
But I am proud of finally moving beyond black people perceived perception that they are being held back by the system. We got it over with. I just wish it would have been a more moderate candidate and one not so far left of moderate US politics.
SIDENOTE: it's on the news that Obama workers are making a stink because they haven't gotten paid. They were supposed to be paid with VISA gift cards. So how does someone take out taxes for the government when you pay workers with Visa cards?!
http://www.wthr.com/...y.asp?s=9299280
A former spokesman for the Obama campaign said 375 people were hired as part of the Vote Corps program and said people signed up to work three-hour shifts at a time. Three hours of canvassing got workers a $30 pre-paid Visa card.
Who pays people in prepaid Visa cards? You're supposed to take out taxes for the government when you pay someone. IT'S THE LAW.
Yet Obama had huge issues with little internet verification when they donated online. It was on TV here that Republicans experimented and were able to get a credit card donation through Obamas site with names like Mickey Mouse and such. McCains site rejected any donation where the account name AND address didn't match the card holder.

one of many sources, go find more if you want, it's common knowledge here in the US for those who bother to be informed.
http://www.post-gaze.../917245-373.stm
All the contributions have been in amounts of $25 or less. But they add up to $17,375 -- far more than the legal limit of $4,600 ($2,300 each for the primary and general election campaigns).
Mr. Obama has raised a whopping $223 million in contributions of less than $200. Candidates are not required to disclose the names of those who contribute less than $200, and Mr. Obama has not. (John McCain has made his complete donor database available online.)
Please read this last link... all I ask.
I know you all have the warm and fuzzy going on here, but always be wary of a preacher behind the pulpit alit too charismatic, and with endless sources of "tithings" coming into the silver pass around bowl. Be open minded and cautious till people REALLY dig deep and find out more. You might have doubts as time goes on.

I reckon he might just do alright, to be honest. After all, Bush wasn't the smartest knife in the drawer either, and had a political career based on his father's moderate success as President. Arnie has success based on his fans and his ability to lift up heavier things than you can, possibly while driving a pointlessly large vehicle, but it works for him. He's popular. With that said though, what do you think his chances would be, if he was eligable?

After a short time of thinking on this, I find it funny Europeans, regardless East or West, believe that Americans are near sided, when in fact most americans have some sort of ancestor from Europe, so that brings it down to Europe's narrow-sightedness, doesn't it? I guess we have someone other to thank, don't we?But we have the narrow-sightedness of the American people to thank.

Black people will get their 40 acres or whatever the hell Jesse Jackson wants for now
My pay will be cut in half, my gear will suck, and I'll probably get shot in the head
The government will try to take Texas' guns away... Emphasis on try
The democrats will have no one left to blame
Should be a fun four years. I'm going to go find something tall to jump off of.
