I have a great idea for T3A,
T3A is the home of BFME modding why not make it the home of BFME Mapping as well.
We could host maps, have a forum for them each map can have a thread and we can discuss them.
We could also have map news updates along with the mod news.
I suggest this because I like Mapping (when the mood takes me) and I don't like leaving T3A for BFME related stuff.
Just wondering what everyone else thinks

Nowhere is the home of BFME mapping, it used to be MEV but that's deader than here :thumbsupsmiley: Though considering T3A has most of the best active mappers (myself and the whole RJ and {IP} lot), we could be the home of mapping help (MEV and BFME2 Heaven will always be the homes of map downloads).

There are plenty of mapping tutorials on the main site.

Having forums for maps isn't necessary, just use threads in the Mapping forum - there are plenty of us to help.

I thought it could be a way to kind of invest in good mappers and maps.
And improve the overall mapping talent.
MEV had more then it's share of bad maps, but since we have a better quality here at t3a it would make sence to bring up more BFME series mapping.
I thought we could have a forum for maps like the BFME modding section.
To promote new maps.
Maps could get hosting (smaller space alloted then mods obviously).
I have noticed a lot of BFMe community sites have been drying up and dying lately t3a is probably the most active of them so we could be the last bastion for BFME.
Perhaps you could bring this up in the next chamber meeting,I would like to know what everyone thinks.

But yeah, there isnt a place to host and download maps or map packs, Most modding communities have them, I didnt even think of it till now.

Awsome idea Rad, Can't believe that last place died though.

What makes games and mods is mainly the maps we play on

Hmmm... interesting idea. I agree with M@tt that the Worldbuilder Forum should cover any question people have with mapping. Now about hosting map projects... I guess it kind of depends on the interest and demand for it. I find that many mappers simply put their work in mods so I don't know how well a separate hostee section for maps would work. I will definitely consider it though if some talented mappers want their own exclusive hostee section.

We could also add maps as its own separate category on the main site instead of lumping it in the download section.

please do that. :p I think maps are important enough by themselves to warrant a separate download section to themselves.

If there was the demand it would be quite sensible to make it happen. I could definitely make use of an exclusive section :p

I like it too. :p
The race of Men is failing, the blood of Númenor is all but spent – its pride and dignity forgotten… It is because of Men the Ring survives.

It seems popular so far
Even if one thing could be taken from this a seperate section for maps would be great

The problem does not come with whether or not it is a good idea, but if we can find people to make maps for the public. It would be hard to find mappers for BFME seeing how the original game came just over 4 years ago and the game does not have the longevity compared to other games.

that's true,
Maybe some of us can start launching public maps.
I'll have to back convert some of my Lone Wolf maps and release them and other people can do the same let's see what we can get.

Awsome idea Rad, Can't believe that last place died though.

MEV is dead because it's run by a total fucking twat, who organises fake contests and lies about prizes and sponsors to attract attention. And the other Admins do jack shit about it.

What? Sledge/Joker still owes you your prize (whatever it was)?! The guy's killed MEV, BFTN and would have killed MEC had Freek not took over. And he's ended up becoming Pandemics new Conquest Community Manager!

I've got his personal email address, if you want I can give it to you if you want to ask him about it.

Any news on these ideas whether they are taking or not.
If there is a Map section it will mean WAR has somewhere to go :evgr:

I believe 2play and ched are away for the time being so it's hard to get anything moving. I'll bring it to their attention when they come back.
