I'd like to get a section for my mod in the BFME 2 forums, I wont need any private section as i wish this to be all open to the community although i'd like Guest posting to be blocked

My mod is a total conversion mod for BFME2 where each faction is unique
Ive been posting in the mod ideas section but the mod has past the point of just an idea and its inappropriate for me to post further in that section

I recently ran a poll and i have decided to go ahead with my idea, Its called War of the Gods and you have your units being

Basic soldier
Basic archer
Elite unit
2 Heros
A king
and the Champion aka the "God"

I have almost finished writing up the first faction

Good. :p You clearly have the talent with modeling but what are your plans in terms of coding? Do you know how to code? Also, since this is a total conversion, I assume you know the tremendous workload for this to be completed. Are you planning on setting up a team? How committed are you in completing this project? Just some questions I'm throwing out.

Well, his unit list is a lot shorter than most conversions, only 7 units total per faction, not counting the building.

Very nice :p I'm looking forward to where this is going.

I have volunteered my services as a part time coder.
So I'll probably setting up the mod but I'd imagine he'd be looking for a full time coder.

Sound very interesting. I hope it turns out good!

How can all factions be unique when they all follow the same unit template? :/

Other than that, everything looks fantastic and I'll definitely be checking for more updates :p

Each faction will be unique and have there own design and theme, How ever for balance reasons, work load and time, Ive decided to keep all faction within I limited range of units, How ever, there would be more units available from summons and spells so over all it should fill things out.
I don't wanna spend 3-5 years on finishing the mod let alone a faction.

If i get my own section for this I plan to have it open source so you might call it a voluntary community project, And I'll probably need various sub forums as well to manage different aspects of the modding. I don't know much about coding for BFME2 How ever I have a few valued friends in the community and tutorials that can help me learn some basics as well as other coders who may help out.

Thanks wicked,

I may as well finish these faction forms and post them up, so people can throw in their ideas into the mod.

I'd say host him but i'm not a chamber member :p
The mod seems to be going well.
It's going to be interesting coding this (the stuff I could be bothered doing).

You'll have to knock up a website for it.

I can handle a website.
I should probably try and organize to get some concept artists in to help design some stuff, like the look and feel of the menus and other such things

Ok, so I have discussed with the other staff and chamber members about the request. At the current time, you do not have enough material to become a hosted mod. As far as we can tell, only several models have been completed and you also have some work on tech trees. One of our major concerns is not having access to a main coder. Part-time coders are nice and all, but people like Rad are busy with their own mods and others too (like SEE) so they're not going to be there all the time. Having an experienced Coder is an extremely important part of any mod, because without a coder all you have is a bunch of artwork that can't be utilized in-game. Digi_Byte, we can clearly see from your current and previous work that you are a talented modeler and decent skinner. But we need this mod to secure a solid full-time coder before we have the confidence that this mod will be completed. You are working on several mods at the moment and that takes away time from working on this mod. Unless you have a lot of free-time, it is going to be very difficult to manage all this work.

I will be setting up the Underworld faction soon.
Gonna do one of my marathon coding sessions where I set up an entire faction with units, heroes, spells and buildings in one sitting.
And as factions as confirmed I'll be doing the same for each.

I'll be finishing LW some time in the first quarter (I hope at least),SEE is a part time thing for me and I have a coder on board for AON (and looking for a another) so I can probably fill the Full Time coder position.

I can watch over AON for Rad and in around the first months of the year i dont have much work on my other mods so i could also part time code WotG like i offered. It just seems too good of an idea to let it die.
