according to the article somewhere on the interweb someone said tom cruise was dead, lots of people started beleiving it (who can blame them) and toms publicity crews decided to kill the rumer by releasing a statement saying he was in fact alive

Link doesn't work for me either.

I used to hate Tom Cruise, but his role in Magnolia was really well done.

I'd stick with 'What a shame he's not dead...' He's short, wooden and a Scientologist. While I have nothing against short people, it does make him easier to mock. His acting skill is something I would place around the level of Keanu Reeves, who has not performed well since Bill & Ted, or maybe Speed, although I've heard good things about his part in The Day The Earth Stood Still. Apparently he was meant to be wooden and unconvincing, so it worked. As for the scientology part, having met and stayed with a couple of genuine scientologists, I am in a prime position to laugh most heartily at everything they stand for.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Ugh...

Ace Ventura and Eternal Sunshine are two movies where Jim Carrey plays two VERY different characters.

Magnolia and Mission Impossible III are movies with two very different Tom Cruise characters.

If you are refering to Hitler as a 'character', then of coarse he is the same... its actors playing Hitler. If you are refering to some (unkown to me) movies of which Adolf Hitler plays characters of the same 'type', then please, point them out...

Otherwise what you said is complete idocy, as when multiple actors are playing the same 'character' then of coarse they are ging to be the same/very similar :evgr:

I think he is referencing to a new movie that Tom Cruise is in about The Holocaust.

while the horrible things he did certainly outweigh the good things he did, he did beleiive it or not have some positive and not inconciderable affect on our lives. a good example is that a large amount of our medical knowledge is based on experiments done on captives of his. atleast I think it was the nazi's.

and as for tom cruise always playing the same role, try and figure out who he plays in the movie tropic thunder, I flat out refused to beleive it until I saw the end credits.

Let's not get into a discussion of the whys and wherefores of why Hitler was a positive or negative influence on our lives. Save such a discussion for the loony bin (aka HoP).

All we need to know is that Tom Cruise's acting is slightly better than Keanu Reeves (The Day the Earth Stood Still utterly stinks, Vort, just so you know before you go and waste a tenner to go see it), that he is a Scientologist and something of a loony (while being a Scientologist and a loony are certainly not mutually exclusive, Cruise goes beyond even the Scientological level, if that were possible - let's just point out how crazy he went about that new bird he's got).

Still, if we're talking about crap actors, everyone knows that Nicholas Cage is the worst actor in Hollywood. He even makes Keanu 'senór el roboto' Reeves look fluid.

Was that supposed to be funny?

I can't stand Adam Sandler at all. Or Steve Martin.

I used to dislike Adam Sandler, but then he really grew on me. There were a couple of films of his that had some genuine comedy moments and he sort of won me over. But I'm with you all on Steve Martin, Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves and Nicholas Cage. I'd also like to state that I strongly dislike Jim Carrey. I did not find Ace Ventura even remotely amusing, nor any of his other usual brand of idiot humour films. The only things I've seen that I liked him in were The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine.

Jim Carrey's actually a very good actor. The others are only any good if they're cast to their personality.

I don't like Jim Carrey. He overreacts too much to pretend to be funny with his awful face. Adam Sandler is good. Keanu Reeves is a robot, even Nicholas Cage isn't that horrible. But The Day the Earth Stood Still fit him, since his character wasn't supposed to have emotions at all. About Tom Cruise... I have no comments.

And here I was, thinking Keanu Reeves was a halfway decent actor. Same with Cruise. You've all forgotten Samuel L Jackson... and Nicholas Cage is awful. Tom Hanks is my fav.
