What can we do to make your Revora experience better?

A couple of staff members have started discussing some aspects, but we need input from all people who are involved in Revora. For the parts that we have already brainstormed, we will soon create new topics for public discussion in the Feedback, Suggestions & Network forum. This includes:
Vision and purpose of this network:
For a very long time, we've had no clear vision of this network's future and its purpose. Different people have had different plans and different ways to make them reality. We now seek to clearly state our role and our plans for the future, so that from now on, truly everyone works towards a common goal.
Roles and functions of our staff:
In the past this has always been handled rather loosely with the effect that nobody really knew what purpose and responsibilities each group actually has. This is something that should be changed.
Whether this should then be written down formally or just clarified still needs to be decided and will certainly be part of the discussion.
Improving current technology:
Some people have brought up issues and new ideas for technology we already use, mainly our Network Bar. We would welcome your opinion on how to improve it and make it more usable.
Centralising network services:
Our idea is to make more services which are common to all divisions available on the main site so we can more efficiently manage and improve them.
Current plans include:
- a new hosting portal (including info, faq, howtos and form), which has already been in the works and is nearly finished
- a new centralised download system for mods, possibly inspired by SourceForge
- ready-to-use website templates for new projects, so you're no longer obliged to create your own site if you don't wish to
- a coding framework for new division websites that will make administration and founding of new divisions easier
Of course this list is only a beginning. Don't hesitate to make new topics if you feel a current one does not cover your issue.
We hope that as many of you as possible will participate in those discussions so that nobody is left out in the whole process. Of course we cannot guarantee that everything will turn out just the way you want it, but this is the chance to make your voice heard.
We also hope that once the main areas in need of improvement have been identified, we can create task forces to take care of those changes. This way we believe we can solve some of the most important problems our community has been facing and improve the experience for everyone here.

Fuck the cake, pie and cookies. How about some creative input instead.Fuck cake! Bring back the Pie!
There's an instant idea, while we're at it. A games and movies preview and review section. We're not all playing EAs' RTS games, but we are playing new games and watching new movies. How about a dedicated section for us to give full reviews of the latest for other members to take note of, or to disagree with?
Thought I'd have that here to save time.

@Caspa: I'll create a new topic in the Feedback forum for adding new sections. I actually find this a pretty cool idea, seeing as serious feedback isn't always easy to find.

The number of people available to write tutorials (that are probably covered elsewhere, like DeeZire) for games that old are very slim indeed. The interest just isn't there.
I'd also keep the number of forums down where possible. The 'creativity' sections are always empty, because people are scattered too thin. The same will probably happen with RA2/whatever forums as well.

The problem here, again, is that we'd need a sufficient amount of people who'd actually volunteer to write them, or we'll be left with yet another freshly created but never used space. If you yourself would like to write something of the sort and can motivate a few others, I'm sure we can set something up.a wiki to write game-design documents and other things in would have been cool. thats something i personally would have found use for at least
Do you think the forum organisation is a problem specific to the C&C Guild or the whole Revora forum? How to make Revora better? I find that most of the questions in the forums could be eliminated with better tutorials. I find the Modenc is vague in some of it's answers. It might say raise a certain number, but raise which way? I was told once to raise a number, but if the number is 5 and it says raise it is raise mean 1 is higher or is 10 higher. I was told I went the wrong way in raising. Another way is to sticky a topic that is common and has been answered before, like how to make all unit buildable. Revamp the forum: If the sub-topic is C&C RA2/Yuri then sub forums should be some thing like 1) Rules/Art ini editing, 2) shp questions, Vxl/Hva questions, 3) single player map questions and so on. I had a friend give me a forum and I started to make a basic forum to show some one else how it could look to explain my point. If you break the forums down in to sections and have people post in the appropriate forum then it won't look like a cluster ****. People need to make their topics a little more clearer, no "HELP ME PLZ!" or "I HAVE A PROBLEM" that tells the community nothing. If one of the moderators read this and would like to see something I started I will send them the link to the starting work that I did. I started it just to learn how forums work and such and is by no means a complete thing.
Also, we obviously cannot influence the behaviour of new members beyond offering a starting guide that's as intuitive as possible. If you have further ideas related to that topic, keep suggesting them (possibly in a new topic in the Feedback forum).
Certainly true. I'll keep that in mind for when we start adding or removing forums anyway. If you have a specific layout in mind already, feel free to make a topic and we can discuss your version (or variations thereof).I'd also keep the number of forums down where possible. The 'creativity' sections are always empty, because people are scattered too thin. The same will probably happen with RA2/whatever forums as well.

Think there is a little misunderstanding there.
A game-design wiki sounds like a cool idea. It's something i could make for gamesmodding.com. It's already got most of the code done for a different feature.

If you want to sell something, attach a set of tits to it. I'm being metaphorical. But EVERYONE here knows what I say is the truth.
cutest asian, hottest fury, and you know where I'm going. Fuck this childs version of Revora. Make it "adult" friendly. I mean not porn for gods sake. Just liven it up abit with some adult humour links or SOMETHING. *yawn*

Honestly, I'd suggest a hot chicks section. I guarentee it would be the most popular section. I'm making a joke but not really.

Spam with nearly 8000 posts, and a 'Manager' tag
Do your homework before posting, dude.
The account could have been hacked. It doesn't matter who it is. Ok, its not spam, but he/she went off topic. The forum does not need childish suggestions, especially from a manager . Suggesting porn or adult sites does nothing.
