Hi all, there has been a long time i didnt post nothing here ^^
Im startin a new mod called, by now, LGDA Armies.
This one pretends to bring a new gameplay to BFME series.
In the main game and all major mods you have to construct "unit buildings" but as far as i know in the wars noone starts to build that kind of structures, so they just go there with their armies to war and this one is my goal to make this mod.
So in this mods there arent unit buildings but they come from the fortress.
In your fort youll be able to create all your main army and some of them (kinda the Elite ones) will need some upgrade to can be recruited.
There wont be armour or sword upgrades in this mod, but a general upgrade from the fortress called "Armory" that will make you able to recruit the units who wear special armours or weapons, just units like Attack Trolls, Helm´s Uruks, Tower Guardians, Royal Guards...
Youll be able to construct camps to, that fits the resource buildings. Really is kinda the same just more lore based on, for example the camps for Elves will be the Mallorns, Mines for Dwarves.. but for Mordor and Isengard will be Orc and Uruk Pits cuz the idea is these buildings represents your army and a short of place where they "rest"or so, you know, just a camp. Ive forgotten!: in order to make you able to build your army faster, you could recruit basic units from an specific plot structure (you know, from Fortress expansions).
Every faction will have a main army with their basic units and others that comes from Alliances (other upgrade). The Alliances makes you able to recruit some heroe to and theyll come from the fort or the Inns.
Im thinkin in change powers from bfme2, i mean i dont like to have 15 powers or so, but i like more to have like in BFME1, about 9 i think. It makes every faction more unique too as it hasnt to take powers from others factions.
The main factions for first version will be: Mordor, Isengard, Moria (Goblins), Erebor (Dwarves), Rivendell (Elves), Rohan and Gondor.
For future versions i thinkin to build Mordor in 2 factions: Barad-Dûr and Morgul because there were 2 different armies and different battles for them (Black Gates and Minas Tirith battles for each of them), im not thinkin in Evil Men faction as they werent that importante in War of The Ring, but more like Sauron slaves that fits fine as Allies.
Angmar and Arnor would be added in next versions too. Anyway im kinda open mind about suggestions here.

Well, this one are the basics, hope to can show us some pic soon.
Sugesttions are welcome!
Cheers

Ok, main units are available to recruit from your fortress now but...when ive tried to include there the allies then the game crash...it just happens because the number of buttons in the fortress (seems 33 is the maximum). I think i can fix it, but hardly, so im thinkin in other choices...
First one is to add special expansions in the fortress to creat the allie forces
Second one is to make porters able to create Alliance buildings (once the Alliance upgrade has been purchased) to crete their forces
Third one is to leave Allies just recruitables from Inns. It gives more strategy to the game, but less gameplay cuz there arent inns in all maps...
And last one is to work hard on inis and get the allies into the fort as it was my original intention :p
So, what do you think? Any suggestions?

To expand the fortress commandset's limit of 32 buttons, try putting in switching commandsets (via ModelCondition or via upgrades). There are some tutorials specific on this, but some of the mechanics are also spread over other ones. If you want the AI to be able to use them, you have to cram everything you need into a single commandset though. So, how about adding those extra ALLIANCE buttons to the commandsets of the fortress expansions? :p
