THE DARK WORLD
Middle Ages/Present (bear with me... :thumbsupsmiley:)

In Felariu, the stars shine as bright as the moon, and the land is never wholly dark. In the night, spirits of the forest and sea perform their esoteric rites and mythical beasts wander the land. Griffons and wyverns roost in the highest peaks of the mountains, and the six dragons, White, Black, Brown, Green, Blue, and Red, gather great hoards. The deep and ancient forests are home to elves and their allies, the unicorns. Dwarves mine the hills and live in mighty halls, while gnomes dwell in volcanic caverns beneath the mountains. In the southwest, centaur shepherds and their flocks roam the green fields, while mischievous brownies range the land, playing pranks on anyone they can escape from quickly. Faeries can be found almost anywhere, but are very reclusive. If, on occasion, they are seen, they have great knowledge to impart to their finder. Merfolk come occasionally to the ports for trade. The most isolated race, the vampyres, can be found in the darkest valleys of the western mountains, where they study great magic.
The far southeast is widely referred to as the Dark World because of the shadow of terror that lies over it. In the Dark World, driven there by the great human empires, vast numbers of evil creatures live. Orcs, goblins, kobolds, ogres, trolls, and dark elves have built countless cities there, and all of the citizens of the northeast world know that it is only a matter of time before the enemy breaks out.
However, in these times, great heroes arrive as if by magic. From six cities called the Havens, they set out on quests for honor and glory. Many fail and are killed by the bands of raiders now roaming the lands, but their deaths do not discourage the others, who arrive in increasingly greater numbers. The Falerian people dare to hope that these people might be their salvation; for even when they fall they reappear. But in order to save the innocent citizens, the combined armies of the strange warriors and the free Falerians must march on the Dark World. Only a great leader will be able to rally the peoples before time runs out…
**********************************
Now, there's a very strange secret about these mysterious warriors... but I guess you'll have to wait to find out until (if) it comes out. :)

Except where it isn't... :p I'm using more of the stereotypical mainstream fantasy races, rather than Vort's rather obscure ones.

Hmmm... I think I can drop a hint.

Wow. ;)

Well, it does sound kinda like Arsencia, if we're honest. I didn't so much use obscure parts of mythology as just a limited selection. I wanted to stick with the overall plan Nowe had for Arsencia, so that limited my choice with how far I could delve. Anyway, I was planning to expand my stock a bit over the next couple of chapters. There'll be plenty of new and interesting things to kill.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

Actually, that sounds more like the old arsencia when nowe was in charge.
has all those really cheesy/lame things like unicorns and fairies and goblins... (i even class dragons in this genre, though i can tolerate them)
All the stuff that i was happy to have gotten removed when vort took over :p
(sorry if you like those more 'lame' creatures and stuff, i just think they are a bit baby-ish [theres no nicer way of saying what i feel, i dont mean any disrespect if you are into those things, please dont take any offense from my words])

btw, are dragons still in Arsencia vort? i cant remember if you kept them or not...

There are a few dragons, but they're not at all like what Nowe had in mind. My dragons are elemental creatures, manufactured by the more powerful magi and then surviving by dwelling in or close to their element. There aren't many of them in modern Arsencia, though, if any at all. They're notoriously difficult to both create and control, so most people don't bother.

There are no unicorns or goblins though, as mentioned, I am planning to expand my stock. There will be some vaguely recognisable mythological creatures out there. But only vaguely.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.

@ SWG: No offense taken. I don't like them either, unless they're EPIC. :p

lol

And now that you say that vort, i think i remember you telling us this before.
but yeah, this rp sounds very similar to arsencia, so so what redundant im afraid
(even though i ma considering a zombie rp which would also be redundant by my logic :p

Once he gets Apoc properly rolling it won't be a problem. I'll have a word with him, see if he can show up a bit more often.

At least I'm consistent. :p

Yeah, sorry guys. I'm useless :p
Anyway, maybe I'm too liberal but I thought this could work. But obviously if you guys disagree, it's a democracy of sorts :p
Of course I don't look busy; I did it right the first time.

FZM and Vort don't do tag wrestling...but if they did, they'd probably be the worst tag-wrestlers in the world.

Well, if you support it, I'd love to post up a bit of the prewriting that I did, then discarded. :p

By all means, put everything you've already got up in the Writer's Guild. That is, after all, the correct place for such ventures, and due to the nature of mine and FZM's long-standing friendship, it is heavily affiliated with the RPG Frontier. :p
