Just a quick update, spent the past while remaking the clone trooper, the model I had originally used was too high poly in my opinion and I want to keep everything within an acceptable poly count, so here it is, the new clone trooper, coming in at around 900polys, just imagine it skinned for the moment. But to make up for its relatively low poly exterior we'll give it a high detailed texture with a shader...

Once I'm finished with Windu and Yoda, I'd be happy to. White clone armor should be a nice, easy job :p .

lol, thanks dude, poor big eared clone, bet he was teased at school and all....

Atm, I'm going to try and do a rough outline AI so that I can test the factions against each other, shouldn't be too hard considering there are only 2 building options on either side. I wanna get the SBD's in as soon as possible, they will be a higher levelled infantry that can fire whilst moving just like the Droidekas, just have to go through Rob38's tutorial and see how I can apply it. I'm wondering though, how I would signify upgrades in Droids, I don't really want to mess with the colouring, fact I want to stay away from altering the initial look of units as much as possible so I don't think we'll be doing team colours either, unless that is something alot of people want.

If it's a Republic vs CIS match, team colors really aren't necessary. But what if it's a mirror match? so yeah, put in team colors, just don't overdo it. :p

Keep team colors out... You'll usually see who's shooting who, even in mirror matches..

See I'm tending to go with Lauri on this one, I don't even like team colors on BFME, I also have a gripe with Draw Occlusion, seeing units through buildings is a big no no, surely we're not too lazy to rotate the camera people. Although if I were to do it, it would be so sublte as to not really be too noticeable, i.e changing making the fin on the helmet a team color patch and it just seems pointless to do it in that case, does anybody wanna see Darth Vader with a rubber ducky yellow stripe across his helmet? (Well apart from the twisted few :p)

Considering that many clones and droids already have patches of color to signify divisions and ranks, it would be easy to make those markings into house colors. Only on the basic units, though - heroes, Jedi, and other such units should be house-color-free.

Of course, you might have to adjust the RGB values of the house colors to make them a bit less saturated...

Teams colours on the clone troopers would look good, but that's about it.

Rubber ducky? No, I think Vader holding a yellow water filter would make more sense...

But that depends on what kinda clone it is... There are different classes, and the differ with colors, so using team colors on them would kinda eliminate their purpose... :p

Then again, I don't know if you have anything besides "normal" clones.. :p

I definitely agree with the whole no-team-colors-on-special-characters, heroes shouldn't have their authentic looks marred by team colors. :p

But surely we could put them on clones and other basic units? :p

I agree, can you change the default house colors to something less saturated and fitting? Even though I also think sometimes house color makes units look toyish, it would be nice to be able to tell if a squad is mine without having to click on it.
